Thanks for the info, nutty...

I am probably screwed for the moment. I got my air tiks liao. Thing is I need accomodation for 3 days. Booked Rainbow but it is FULL!!! I need to get a hotel for my 3 days stay, preferbly ard ximenting area...I am booking thru asiarooms.com Now me gonna to reserve royal castle but still awaiting for them to confirm with me. If royal castle also full, I am screwed liao....

Can anyone recommend me hotels ard ximenting area so I can used this as backups if royal castle also full. I know Santos also near ximenting. Any more hotels???

Is KDM hotel good? Good Location?

Appreciate any feedback. I need to settle my accomodation first before I can think of where to have fun. Else gottta to sleep at train station liao.....Jiak lat....

Hi everyone,

I just came back from Taiwan. Thanks to this forum, I enjoy the trip and got quite good deals.

I would like to recommend a minshu which i stayed for 2 day for NT900 per nite + a very good location with lot of things to walk at night. The lady boss is extremely nice and the NT900 per day was definitely worth it. She fetched us to and fro the train station, and a nice breakfast is included. She even help us to book train tix and collect them from the station. It very value for money.
you can go to this website and give her a ring. This is highly recommended. I took my chance and this was a very unknown minshu but it turn out very good.

As for touring in Hualien, I went to this Taxi driver , Mr Chen Guang Xi who is recommended by a fellow forumer here. Although he is slightly more ex, but he was worth every single cent we spent.

I also went to Hsinchu. Anyone who is planning to go there can go to this hotel which is also quite cheap and just next to the train station. hsinchu is a nice place almost as crowded as Taipei.

I think you can try 国光饭店. It is located in a small lane in Ximenting but it looks okie to me. Royal Castle is quite far from Ximenting may a bit troublesome to move your language around. Santos is quite dar away from Ximenting

At night you can go Nanbin nite mkt, or you can walk ard 中正路. It very crowded and got lot of shop. However, Hualien is not like Taipei. Most shop will close at about 10++pm

I have been to Taipei twice. Ye Liu is definately a place must go. Its about 1-2 hours coach ride from Tapei City. I love the scenery there and its a small fishing village but the ocean view is stunning. Regretted not taking much pictures there.

IMO, Taipei 101 has nothing much to see on its observation deck. Save yourself the 20 bucks.

Did u go to the Ocean world @ yeliu? It's only 350TWD.. nice show.. very entertaining.. 1st half show is by dolphins and sea lions.. 2nd half by some divers from all over the world.
