there's a few recreational farms in taiwan that have lodgings for u to stay...

i went to the one at wuling last dec... quite cold.. got frost on the ground in the morning.. its a pity i gotta rush off soon.. didnt have much time to visit around the farm.. its pretty big..

Tien mu is the place just below of yang min shan, mainly foreigners living area.
There is a takashima inside the area.
good food from lots of different country can be found there but not cheap.

I bought the promo tix at $380 from Cathay Pacific in which after tax, it costs abt $460... BUT, u need to transit at HK airport.. think it is now having the promo again for $388, travel exit by dec 2004.

intially i stayed in a 'cheaper' hotel near Shuanglian station in Taipei... only NT1580 a nite, incl of breakfast..BUT i dun really like it. If u juz need a place to sleep, then i think shld be ok for u :p

as for meals, think each meal evens out to be about NT100 (thatz the max).. if u gg wif frenz, then u can share the food n cost..

i din go taizhong n gao xiong cos weather was terrible... but my initial itinery was to go Alishan (go from Jiayi), Nantou (qingjing farm or LuZhou wen quan) and tai zhong (Puli)... We took train to Hualian however n stayed at minsu for 2 nites.. quite a nice place to go to...

as for taipei, the usual places that tourists go r Shilin nite market (been there 4 times), C.K.S Memorial Hall, XiMenDing, ZhongXiaoDongLu, National Museum, Dan Shui (nite market), Jiu Fen, Ji Long and YehLiu GeoPark. If u like KTV, can go Holiday KTV, not bad..

cos there were 4 of us in this trip, we actually pooled our money for lodging, transport n food.. so everything works out juz fine =p

the hotels u go there then book?

the cost of living is higher in taipei than any other cities in taiwan, so the internet cafe charges is normal...

u have to take note of seasons if u are planning to buy stuff like clothing in taiwan and honkong

which seaons to go shopping clothing the best? may june ok?? wet month??
