hm.. is long john very uncomfortable? cos it looks like just a cotton suit tat u wear inside.. does it stick to the skin?
nvr wear before? its suppose to wear it tight, but not so tight until like "tights", know what i mean. Just anr layer of clothing. For me, i prefer to wear 1 size bigger.

The problem is that if temp not cold enuff, its gonna be damn hot! somemore as mentioned, u go indoor, u cant take it off, if u spend a lot of time outdoor, its fine, but once indoor, u're going to get a heat stroke!..haha.. me exaggerate lar, but i definitely try to NOT wear long johns unless its like -10 degree.

but, no, it doesnt stick to skin. Winter condition v. dry. i dun ever remember me sweating..ha

of the few cold places i visit, i feel taiwan's "coldness" is due to wind chill. get a good jacket is a better option.

minsu is NT$1k. quite cheap. search this thread, i lost the link to her website. Ms Liu very friendly & good service, u wont regret!

NT$2k ah, not cheap not ex lor. If 4 person, each on only NT$500. very cheap. where can u find someone who'll give u 8hrs full transport & guide for NT$500 per pax? :p

Thanks... I guess I just wear more layers and bring along a jacket and a wind breaker.

Cos heard my peers mentioning about the 'Han Liu' ... and got paranoid... typical Singaporeans lah.. lol
can drop the wind breaker. If u're the type tht likes wind breaker style, get those "pom pom" fluffy type of jacket.

Also, the "jacket" u refer to is not those jacket we wear in SG right? must get those good materials one, else u'll feel cold. wind chill in taipei is quite high from wht i remember.

if I want to travel from taipei to the taroko gorge...

which mountain would be more convenient to visit along the way???
u can visit YMS. its in 2h bus ride from taipei. Its not "along the way" strictly speaking. Snow in YMS will be a very very rare event.

Or from hualien / taroko gorge, u can travel to Li-shan. it may snow there. again, its not "along the way" strictly speaking. U need to get your own transport too.

There is a new Taipei pass, just launched in Nov. It allows unlimited rides on the mrt and buses by the same company. NT250 for one-day. Those going might want to try.
