heard from my guide tat actually gao xiong earthquake is not common in the past... unlike hualien area... therefore hse/building in hualien are build to withstand earthquake... Gaoxiong, where it does not happen so offen, building are not build to withstand big earthquake, so usually gao xiong area will affect the most even with smaller earthquake...

The first will be Keelung.

And for the 2nd shot, it is danshui area. Took it from the resturant at the 3rd level of Red Castle (hope I get the name right).

dunno how true. but gaoxiong indeed is not as developed as taipei. However, in the 921 big earthquake, most seriously affected is taipei as the ground beneath taipei is weaker. though kaoxiong was struck wif similar ferioucity, they survived quite ok.

i m also in that filght SQ 875.... but the landing was lousy, haha
me didnt go to countdown party , me & bf went to shilin for last min shopping, so so crowded. ...the metro was jammed right to the underpass , end up taking cab to hotel...S$12!!

overall not a bad trip, : )
yea the landing was bad... and worst had to walk down the plane and into the airport...

the aftermath of the countdown is scary, the whole road behind the Gou Fu Ji Nian Guang is jammed with people on both the roads..... each road is as wide as our highway... we walked all the way down for like 3 metro stops b4 getting a cab to go back... but again its an experience...haha

It's direct to SML Via Taichung and Puli. Very comfortable New Buses:Leaves hourly,so you can leave early. About 4 hrs trip. NTD830 return trip.

TAIPEI - SUN MOON LAKE via PULI on Green Transit Bus:http://www.greenbusgroup.com/home.htm
Outside MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing Station Exit 2, bus departs from No. 274 Zhongxiao E. Rd. Sec. 3
台北市忠孝東路三段274號<忠孝復興捷運站二號出口旁>
Reservations: (02)2752-2988 Bus Service: 6:00~22:00
Tour SML about half a day. Please note, stuff like the boat ride on SML requires 4 persons minimum, otherwise you might have to wait.
