According to the Inspectors, there are 33 areas that need to be improved or corrected but the THSR decided to go ahead anyway. I personally am not in a hurry.

All the places mentioned are outside of Taipei . To get there you have to take a train from Taipei Main Station(NOT MRT)
新竹新光三越 - Hsinchu
中壢SOGO中央032;館 Chungli
台中廣三SOGO Taichung
豐原太平洋SOGO Taichung
Have a good trip to Taiwan. It's going to be very cold at nights, so be prepared. Tonight lows 9C , Tomorrow Lows 7C.

oops, so sry for the late reply. was bz (seldom come to forum recently). Anyway, i onli bought taiyang bing at taichung. Tried going ard the neighbourhood shopping but nuthin fantastic. It's so unexciting that i can't remember whr i go in taichung.....maybe u can give us some insights on what is good at taichung now that u are there?
well, i must say that taichung not so exciting as well compared to taipei. and without the mrt, it seems much bigger and difficult to get around at least for me. but, there is a lot more clubs and disco in taichung.. went to this the pig pen and lion king at da guan rd. not bad live band. but be there on weekends if you expect more crowd. tell taxi driver 狮子王 and they will know where. both club is side by side. got one more club but dunnoe the name. then i also went to the museum to see the terracotta warriors on display. the exhibition is till end of march. entrance fee is 200nt. there is also this 九族文化村 . can see the cherry blossom there. but i did not manage to go there. cos i heard the travelling is quite far and troublesome. well other than these.. maybe can try the tai yang bing and feng li su.. more popular in taichung..

Monique Chen from Taiwan Visitors Assn(Singapore office):
Also pls note that Tourist Pass we have in stock is expired (till June/06) and there won't by any further issues since some shops/restaurants stopped the cooperation with us.

Yes, they will!! I think this is a great Souvenir so I asked for one and they said I was "Too Old"!!!

Foreigners get a Red and Locals get a Blue. So I sent my office boy down to register and get me a Blue one first. I'm thinking of a way to get the Red one now.

There is a bus from Taichung to QingJing Farm 清境農場
http://59.120.166.99/cgi-bin/big5/cj...=cj2&q22=2&q9= (English)
http://59.120.166.99/cgi-bin/big5/ch...ng&q22=1&q10=1 (Chinese)

But not sure from QingJing Farm to Hualian. Perhaps you can call QingJing Farm to find it out.

Alternative is taxi but that will be very costly.

Forumer Dragonking posted:
Transport in and out of Chingjing:
For those going to Chingjing, it is important to plan your bus timings.
The only public bus going into Chingjing is Nantou Bus and they only have 5 trips in per day starting from Puli. Please refer to their website here:
http://www.ntbus.com.tw/5-24.htm

There is a bus route to Hualien most of the way :
www.taroko.gov.tw/ENGLISH/hualienbus.htm
There's a gap between Dayuling and Tsuiefong where no bus service is provided .
(Although the website says "hitchhiking is not uncommon", in your case, don't even consider it.)
