Flowers, is walking distance from Taipei main Station , Food, comic shops e.t.c. all aound close by.
You can take the Guoguang bus to Taipei Station, Then cross the road and walk to Hotel.
NOT Freego. Rooms are clean, breakfast is okay.

That was a fast reply. Thanks.

I have another question. If I going to SML from Taipei, taking a high speed train is better than taking a bus? Which method is easier? Thanks.

Most likely no problem with Freego. Can ask the driver. I don't know if he will alight you in front of the hotel or may be at 新光三越 (馆前路 ) which just opposite the Guoguang bus station mentioned by nuttyazn.

Anyway, there is a new branch just diagonally opposite the old Flower Hotel. They call it 新馆。 You may enquire about it.

On the way back to airport, Freego will pick you up in front of 新馆.

Many food stalls but almost all close at 10pm. You can go to McDonalds 24 hours if too late.

The best is to take a DIRECT bus from Taipei to Sun Moon Lake. Journey about 4.5 hours. There is a toilet on the bus.

Green Bus:
台北市忠孝東路三段274號<忠孝復興捷運站二號出口旁>
http://www.greenbusgroup.com/p4.htm

Need to buy the ticket before boarding the bus.

Janfusun Fancy World is in Yunlin、southern Taiwan、about 2.5~3 hrs. from Taipei. There is a direct bus、Rer Tong Bus 日統客運、from Taipei Station to Janfusun departing at 6:20; the return bus departs from the Janfusun Prince Hotel (near the park entrance) at 17:20. Approximate round-trip ticket price is NT700.

It's a waste just to spend only 1 hour+ in Yang Ming Shan!
Since you have done shopping in XMD the night before, it is good to go to YMS just after breakfast.

1. 9am Take bus 260 from Taipei Main Station. Can use 悠游卡.
2. Alight at the bus terminal at YMS
3. Take your time to walk along the pathway to the flower clock. Enjoy beautiful flowers and greenery.
4. There is another bus terminal at the flower clock. You can take bus 108 (with 悠游卡 ) to other stops in YMS. There are total of 12 stops. Bus interval 30~40 min.
5. You may want to stop at 竹子湖 to see the 海芋. There are also many other flowers at the farms there.
6. Have lunch at 竹子湖. Then take bus Red 9 to Beitou.

The sky turn dark very early when I was there last week. 6.30pm and it is already dark. But you still have plenty of time to enjoy your hot spring and a nice evening in DanShui!

damien, thanks for the advice. Have made amendments to my itinerary. I'm staying at TS, so I can just take the bus @ Zhong Hua rd instead of going to Taipei Main Station ya?

悠游卡 = EasyCard? The card that entitles you to ride on buses and train? Where can I get one of these?

I am not sure about any bus from XMD.
Pls note Taipei Main Station is the railway station, not the MRT/ subway.
The bus stop is no. 2 outside the exits behind the ticketing counters.

Both Dan Shui & Fishermen’s Wharf have nice scenes in evening & at night. If have time & not been there before, try to visit both places.
