Just came back from taipei yesterday.
Weather update: Super hot! Hotter than singapore!
Those who wan to go yang ming shan be prepared to sweat it out like me..
For those going to jiufen then miaokou, my advise is dont buy too much stuff at jiufen or u cant walk ard miaokou at all because it's too heavy n hot to walk..

Shared a cab with a hwzer to keelung. hope u still remember me.

P.S. Thx nuttyazn!

Hi,

I intend to make Hualien as my first stop and would like to find out what is the best recommended choice to take?

Fly to Taipei and take train to Hualien?

Also are the train services on 24hrs basis? Cos i am reaching Taipei at night and would proceed to hualien straight away from the airport.

many thanks for the advices.

No 24hr train service, no bus from airport direct to hualien. but i think u can still make it by taking bus to taipei then train to hualien. check the train timetable. u definitely arrive midnight or past tht

There are paid lockers available at the train station. You can always leave ur things there.

I went Taipei on 23-27 May. Ya agree with what some of the members say...Super duper hot! I became so dark after my trip. Though its better than having rainy weather as it will hinder sight seeing but its still very uncomfortable walking under the hot sun the entire day. Lucky none of us fell ill.

I love the food though. Esp the "Ah Zhong mee sua" @ Xi Men Ding. We booked a cab for a day trip. It's quite economical since it's spilt amongst 4 pax & it also allowed us to visit many places within a day. I remembered we went Jiu Fen, Fishermen Wharf, some memorial parks or buildings, xiao you keng etc etc, I'm not good with the names so can't remember most of them

Those who are interested to try the hot spring i recommend Villa 32. It's very very nice. Me & my friends took the private room. 2 of us shared a room. Cost $3000nt per room so it's $1500nt per pax for 1.5 hours. The public one cost $3000nt per pax for 4 hours.

www.villa32.com - highly recommended!
