Anyone have the futurestar hotel link?
The website for Futurestar is http://www.futurestarhotel.com.tw/front/bin/home.phtml but they don't have any online booking system, so u got to call the hotel itself for booking..

Janfusan is really not a half day trip. If you want to experience a Theme park, you can go to Leofoo, Not so far and you can return in the afternoon.
The E-go Company Bus goes from Taipei Songshan Airport to Leofoo and Windows on China. If you are staying in Ximenting Hotel, Take bus 262 to the Domestic Songshan Airport to board the bus.

Do I need to book train ticket early? Like going to Hualien? Or just go and buy on the spot on that day?

How to get from yehliu from ximen? Yehliu near Jiufen?

0830 - Take bus 260 at taipei main station to yang ming shan. Take bus 108 for internal route to YMS. First stop at XXXX (Cant rem the name). Walk around 45 minutes to some pond area where they grow something like lilies and Walk around 45 minutes back to bus stop. Tiring but luckily the weather is damn cooling. Much colder than genting i guess. Second stop to xiao yuo ken (guess i spell it wrongly). At there 810m above sea level, the fog is so thick and visibility on road is around 5m. Was tempted to climb to the top (1010m above sea level). But gave up as need to walk ard 1.5hrs up the rocky stairs. Take bus back to YMS bus station. Eat lunch at the small eatery there.
1300 - Take bus to xin beitou for hotsprings. Went to Springs Resort. Nice atmosphere and worth the money. Please take the free shuttle bus from xin beitou to resort. Dun be like me walk about 30minutes to reach there. So tired.
Take bus to xin beitou for hotsprings. > which bus to xin beitou for hotspring? take bus at YMS bus station?

there were a lot of hotspring in taiwan, esp taipei, such as yms(which i had a miss), beitou ( hotel staff told me too many ppl there as most tour packages go there) illan i didnt go and went wulai instead as heard of the natural open hotspring and a taste of aboriginal culture there choose what you want; to squeeze with ppl or enjoy without too much ppl

Thanks to those who have helped out in one way or another.

My first phase of planning has been completed.

Coupled with my own research and detailed info from all different forums, I have finally booked my air-tickets and accomodation.

Leaving on the 2nd week of Jul 07. Will be going on a 9D8N trip to Taiwan(Hua Lien+Taipei) by Jetstar.

Total cost including hostel lodgings = 765 SGD

First time trying out the hostel but reviews found to be very positive. Not taking hotel stay cos trying to min costs to free more $$$ to spend in Taiwan.

Now will proceed to plan my itinenary with the info found here. In general, to spend 3 days in Hua Lien and 6 days in Taipei.

Once my itineary is up, prob will share with you guys to get some feedback.

Once again, thanks to those who have helped in one way or another.
