Well Im over in Taipei now. Browse this thread a bit can answer 2 queries-

YMS - take mrt to dansui, then take bus from there. wat num I dont know but no way you cant find out when you reach dansui since YMS is such a huge attraction.
Last train - depends on wat line but generally varies from 0009-0019. Shilin line I rem is 0009. You reach Taipei Main Stn interchange at 0030 should not be a prob since so many stops away from the first stations.

Haven figure out where I want go tmr. Saw over the TV just now about a cable car route one can take to see skyview of Taipei. Cable stn is walking distance from the zoo mrt stop.

Will be going Nova n Guanghua...see got cheap umpc-like stuff or not...my 2kg laptop is simply too bulky!

I attach the train timing from the brochure. As for YMS, seems there's different ways to reach. I'm gonna figure out tonight...need find maps! So difficult to find...in Hongkong maps are everywhere! Unless buy from shops...not ex though ~NT$150.

Question

its cheaper. but comes the warrantly problem. esp if you buy those sharp or other phones which singapore dont have i think quite hard to find ppl to repair.
singapore credit/debit cards are all international ones so shouldnt be a problem

those Sharp hp spoils easily? but we can't buy Japan brand hp right? They don't use SIM cards i heard?

last time I bought back GX series sharp hp, still working now - yes you can use singtel sim card, just have to check they never lock the hp. I bought mine at Xi Meng Ding and able to 'A' a lot of freebies at that time with the sales girl.

the new cable car in taipei just in operation, u may want to try it -- take mrt to the zoo station and transfer to the cable car station using the same mrt card, there is 4 stops for the cable car and view should be quite good, can see 101. The only things is there may be a lot of people and hot weather, better go early during weekdays then.
