Hi, any suggestions on what to give friends over there, from S'pore? I'm thinking of food like pineapple tarts which's not available there. Btw, is bak gua available there? I'm thinking of buying.

I don't think there's any restriction on the type of food to be bought in, right?

Thanks

yes there's restrictions. things like bak kua definitely cannot. but as long as dun get caught is ok.

SG bak gua like mei zhen xiang is there as well, so yes, they've bak gua, but they dun hv our habit. In fact, i prefer taiwanese "bak gua" esp. beef ones. they taste so much better. SG bak gua v. oily & tend to be over-cooked.

HI,

They have bak gua over here, really nice too. Also A Singapore company opened a shop at Geant here recently.

My Sis brought 18 kgs of cooked food for me from India via Singapore , all got through with no problems!!!

Singapore Pineaplple tarts especially like this:

Not available here and are nice. Quite different from Taiwanese Square type of pineapple cakes available here.

If your friend drinks coffee, Buy them the 3 in1 Gold Roast brand. I buy a lot of that for my local friends.

Out of topic but talking about coffee... if you like "thick" coffee, Aik Cheong Melaka coffee-O sachet is the best. Gold Roast coffee also good.

Taipei has many small cafe selling very nice coffee with milk (美式咖啡 ). About NT30 (?) can't remember now. We still miss the coffee during last trip. The shop is the 1st unit facing river at the end of Dansui old street when you come out of Dansui MRT station.
