Hey, No Worries. Typhoon gone already, went to the PRC via Kaohsiung.
We need the rain especially in the Eastern part of Taiwan.
If it is anything like last year, we will gt a lot of rain and the typhoons will head for Japan and the PRC without landing on Taiwan.

Just returned from Taipei yesterday.

I followed nuttyazn's 5D4N guide and the trip went very smoothly.

Really want to thank nuttyazn and fellow forumers for their constructive inputs.

I have definitely enjoyed myself for the past 5 days.

Next trip will be 1 month backpacking at Europe.
Leaving for Taipei tomorrow afternooon.

Can anyone send me a copy of shangsiang's WLMJ or nuttyazn's 5D4N guide to myfortunefund@gmail.com

Thank you.

I'm going to Taipei for the first time and am quite worried about accomodation cause I'm a girl going alone and I look quite young hahah. I heard from Taiwanese friends that the hotels near Ximending are in rather creepy, quiet areas (read: sleazy) so I was wondering if anyone has a good suggestion for me to stay in. Currently, the cheapest places I've found (thanks to everyone's posts) are TS (cause of their 1/2 price promo) and Futurestar. Both are NT1080.

Which is better in terms of location/room cleanliness? I really don't want to find out I'll be staying in a sleazy area cause I'll be back rather late every night. If anyone has other suggestions for hotels near Ximending and in that price range please let me know!

Thanks a lot!!

Hahah I need a break and thought Taipei would be a good place to eat & shop since I can speak their language. XD Thanks a lot for your comment, now I'm not as wary about staying there hahah. (From its site it looks like a love hotel to me!) Sometimes when the hotel's too cheap you'll start worrying. I suppose TS would be a better choice since it's been renovated..

depends on wht u define as "love hotel". those tht accepts hourly stay?
TS do hv a lot of taiwanese young couples staying for the wkends. i guess tht's the nice kind of love hotel.... haha.

TS is v. much cleaner, definitely suitable.

But since its around XMD, well, i think u'll get used to being approached by guys for your numbers since u're alone.
