For TS i heard the solo suit its very small, just curious was it like the standard room in Genting First World?
or is it more worth it to get the Superior Suite @ NT$1,680 per nite? Please advise ;p
Very small no window and just ve a place for you to put your bag. Cost you 60 compare to 80. I would say smaller than first world.

To visit Jiu Fen Gu Jie, you could take the Tai Tie (Old train service) from Taipei Main Station to Ruei Fang station, then transfer to the local bus service there. I can't really remember the bus number now, but there's an information counter for tourists with an admin within Ruei Fang station who would glady provide aid for you to obtain directions to Jiu Fen and the famous Gold Museum.

Given a choice, I prefer JiuFen to Yeliu. The latter basically go there to look at stones (or sandstones).

I'm not sure about Ye Liu, as I've not visited there, but yes, the scenery of Jiu Fen is nothing less than breath-taking! The quaint town is built into the sides of mountains, and overlooks winding mountain roads and a seaport in the horizon. There are multiple buddhist temples carved into the steep gradients too. The weather was a little gloomy and it drizzled a little when i visited Jiu Fen, but the view was fantastic nevertheless.

Jiu Fen is known for it's hand-made Yu Yuan (Yam balls) and Di Gua Yuan (Sweet potato balls), and traditional handicrafts such as glassware. Do try the steaming hot and large servings of fishballs and meatballs in soup too - it's pretty famous there (Look out for one with lots of pictures of the owner taken with Taiwanese celebrities). Also, do check out the glassware handicrafts there - One can find unique pieces such as the delicate Ye Guang (glow-in-the-dark) glassware keychains, which are ideal as gifts.

Here are some pictures taken at Jiu Fen:

To get to Jiu Fen, exit Ruei Fang Tai Tie station, cross the road, and take the bus at the bus stop just beside the Wellcome mart. (Can you make out the words “Jiu Fen” in red on the LED panel of the bus?) =)

This is the bus stop to alight at Jiu Fen – Just look out for the 7-Eleven convenience store (They are everywhere in Taipei!)

Seaport in the horizon.

Town is built into the mountain sides.

Cloud covered peaks.

Quaint streets of Jiu Fen

Generous servings of piping hot fishballs/meatballs with soup is a welcome in the cold and gloomy weather!

should be 2) won star @ 118SGD

However, their rooms are not sound-proof. So, while the next room talk too loud, u can hear at times, while @ night.
erm correction. i was recommended by my friend as "one star" (chongcing) hotel.. @ 118/night
e hotel is just next to the taipei main station
i had placed TS as 1st priority but only confirmation via 72 hours later..
wan to secure a 2nd alternatives in case.
1) rainbow (ximending)
2) one star(chongcing) (taipei main station) most ex 118
3) keyman's (taipei main station)

any comments?
