If your flight is delayed, forget Freego. Take Kuokuang bus to Taipei main Station and then a cab to TS. Just tell the cabbie to go to Ximen Exit 1, and turn Right and first left , keep going straight till just before the 2nd traffic light. TS on your right. Cab fare about NTD80/-

TS , wonstar, royal castle and rainbow are all in the Ximenting area. Onestar and Cosmos are near the Taipei Main station.

Stayed in Rainbow instead and been to the Royal Castle to visit my friend who could not get a room at Rainbow.
Royal Castle and Rainbow hotel are under the same management. Location wise, Rainbow hotel is right in the middle of Ximenting and it was very convenient to do late night shopping at XMT area while Royal Castle is still in the vicinity but need to walk a bit. There are many Singaporeans staying at Rainbow hotel when I was there.

My friend who stayed at TS previously told me the TS room was bigger and looks newer than the Rainbow one which is a bit old.

I personally think not much different in the pricing of the onitsuka tiger between singapore and taiwan but the range to choose is much wider in taipei. Bought one with velcro mexico 66 for SGD$160+ but it was in taichung though.

When buying shoes, walk around several stores as the price might differ by 10-20 Sing Dollars.

Try Yi Zhong Jie, Chung You Shopping Centre in the afternoon and Feng Jia Night Market in the evening.

Walk around the area near Yi Zhong Jie, there are a lot of sports shoes outlets around and several Hongkong theme eateries.

Chung You Bai Huo is near there also, got 3 buildings of 16 levels each for you to shop. The Cheng Pin Bookstore is also in the building and there is a small Porter Japan section there too.

has anyone tried the 台湾高铁?how long is the duration to kaosiung? im planning to go there but still thinking should i go str8 to kaosiung or take the train from taipei..
The journey from Taipei to Taichung takes 1 Hour. Since the Zouying station is the last station and double the distance, I estimate around 2 hours.

High Speed Rail Website -> http://www.thsrc.com.tw/tw/index.htm
