Excuse me..
Actually, xinbeitou and beitou.. What are the differences and what is the distance between?

And.. I saw 2 night markets on the map : Lehua night market and Xingnan night market
Anyone been there before?

I have been reading this thread so far from 2005 to NOW - 2008 (eyes popping out soon) and i somehow have some conclusion in mind on where to go, except for some of the directions and the travel distances and time blah blah.

Places i am going to cover :

Shilin
wufenpu
wulai
muzha zoo
the zhongxiao stretch (the entire road for shopping)
keelung (seafood)
beitou/xinbeitou (wanna visit hell valley!)
Danshui
XMD
taipei 101 (just to snap some pics, wont waste time)
tianmu
underground malls
jiufen (still wondering)

As for night markets, well i have raohe, gongguan, shilin, and the 2 unknowns above. (:

Went taipei back in 2004, i survived there with only $150 as i remember. Haha this time going 8D7N with my bf, decided to cover taipei first on this trip. Oh ya peeps here, i have a question. Isit a good thing if i give a miss to Leofoo Village? Cos if i waste 2hrs for that i might as well explore other area.. Right to say that?

Alright, so far only have these in mind.. Share with me your views soon. (:

its looks like this.
Oh ok thanks! the opposite side is the normal 3-pin slot i suppose? hmm.. got those can plug in 3 3-pin kind? cuz i think every night i have 3 devices to charge.. 2 nokia phones and 1 camera..

And here's my half-done itinerary, can peeps here help me to see whether it made the passing mark k.. thanks beforehand! I'll be taking the 0830 Cathay flight on the 6th of May, transit in HK, then off to Taoyuan Internation Airport. The time stated on my eTix is 1515.

So without further ado, here goes..

Day 1
1. Taking FreeGo bus to go TS hotel. Go XMD find dinner.
2. Proceed to Shihlin Station for Astro museum.
3. Proceed to Jian Tan station for Shihlin NM.

Day 2
1. Wake up at 8.30am. Have hotel breakfast and leave hotel around 10am.
2. Take to Jian Tan station for Sea World.
3. Then Shihlin Staton for National Palace.
4. Take to Yuan Shan Station for Confucius Temple.
5. Back to Jian Tan, go Miramar Entertainment centre, then shihlin NM again.
6. Go to Long Shan Temple

Thinking of visiting CKS in between.. cuz this day like quite empty.. dunno got time or not..

Day 3
1. Wake up at 8.30. Take to Taipei main station, take railway to RuiFang, then JiuFen, ShiFen, JiLong and places.. RAILWAY ADVENTURE!!

Read from some forums that these few places can take up the whole day already.. dunno true or not.. Another thing, the buying of railway tix sounds very confusing to me.. is it true?

Day 4
1. Go to Taipei Zoo station for Muzha Zoo
2. Same area, go to Mao Kong Tea Plantation
3. Take train back along brown line to inter-change, Zhong Xiao Fu Xing. Alight and go to Sogo Dept Store.
4. Proceed to Taipei City Hall, go to 新光三越
5. Same area, go to Taipei 101 building
6. Proceed to Houpi Shan station, go Wu Fen Pu

Day 5
1. Go Yang Ming Shan sight seeing
2. Proceed to Beitou for hot spring (Spring City - http://www.springresort.com.tw/)
3. Go Dan Shui, Lover's bridge
4. Dan Shui NM

Day 6
1. Wulai see waterfall.
2. (haven plan finish..)

So peeps, any advices on this itinerary?

Just came back tis tuesdays and its rainy season there .. be prepared to bring umbrella when u go out.. anyway .. cosmed is selling umbrella at 99NT.
The 3Q chicken fillet at WuFenPu is better than those in nite markets.

you can buy the power strip here from most places at NTD150/- or less.

Day 2
1. Wake up at 8.30am. Have hotel breakfast and leave hotel around 10am.
2. Take to Jian Tan station for Sea World.
3. Then Shihlin Station for National Palace.
4. Take to Yuan Shan Station for Confucius Temple.
5. From Yuanshan, the Soccer Stadium Bus stop, you can go to Martyr's Shrine for the changing of the guards (Bus 2,21, 247,287,208.) After Martyr's shrine - same bus stop where you got off, take same bus to Miramar. go Miramar Entertainment centre, then shihlin NM again.
6. Go to Long Shan Temple You can also visit Wanhua (Longshan Temple MRT Exit 3) If you are a girl looking for clothes. For young and older people including plus size clothing)

Day 3
1. Wake up at 8.30. Take to Taipei main station, take railway to RuiFang, then JiuFen, ShiFen, JiLong and places.. RAILWAY ADVENTURE!!
If I were you, I'd do Shifen first thing in the morning as the train timing is irratic, on the way back you can continue to Jioufen from Rueifang and Keelung directly from Jioufen. Ticketing in no worries, just go to the counter to purchase.Note, trains do not start at Taipei

Day 4
6. Walk down to WTC Hall 3 bus stop and take 284 or 611 directly to
Wu FenPu no need to go to MRT Stop -Songshan Station BUS STOP.

Day 5
1. Go Yang Ming Shan sight seeing
2. Proceed to Beitou for hot spring (Spring City-http://www.springresort.com.tw/)
3. Go Dan Shui, Lover's bridge
4. Dan Shui NM

Day 6
1. Wulai see waterfall. On the way back, you can visit Gongguan market(Gongguan MRT Stop exit 4) and later to Shida NM For food- 2 stops down (Techonology Bldg MRT.)
2. (haven plan finish..)
