Day 1 (wed)
From Airport to Taichung
FJ NM
*Is it better to go Taipei for this day first to put luggage? Anyone lugged luggage around before?
*Does FJ NM closes early? And if I'm taking Jetstar, reckon I'll reach Taichung before 10pm?

Day 2 (if day 1 is ok) (Thu)
Shopping in Taichung
FJ NM
*Any other places to go in Taichung?

Day 3 (Fri)
From Taichung to Hualien
Stay at Minsu
Tour around Minsu
*Is it better to travel back to Taipei first then Hualien?
*How to travel from Taichung to Hualien?
*Does the location of Minsu matter?
*Is Hualien small and easy to travel around?*

Day 4 (Sat)
Stay at Minsu
Tour around Hualien

Day 5 (Sun)
From Hualien to Taipei
Stay at Slove Hotel
Visit Wu Fen Pu > Rou He NM > Shilin NM
*Any reviews about Slove Hotel?
*Think I am able to slot more things here?
*What time does Rouhe NM Open and close?

Day 6 (Mon)
Taipei 101 Area
XMD/ Bo Ai Rd
Underground Shopping
Shilin NM or GongGuan NM
* Where is Chengzhong Market and opening hrs?
* WOrth going?

Day 7 (Tues)
YMS > Shifen > Wulai
Stay at Wulai
*Is my sequence ok?
*SHould I skip YMS and straight from Shifen > Wulai and tour around Wulai?

Day 8 (Wed)
From wulai > Jiufen > Yeliu > Miaokou > Slove Hotel
*Is my sequence right? Is there bus from Wulai to Jiufen?
*Can I add anything else to this day?

Day 9 (Thurs)
YMS (if i haven't go)
Danshui LJ
Clubbing
*Is it to early to go Danshui LJ after YMS?
*Anything to suggest if it's too early?

Day 10 (Fri)
Shopping in Taipei (I guess so)

Day 11 (Sat)
Back to Singapore

TIA for helping out in each of the qtns.
I'm really confused about the Shifen, Danshui, Yeliu, Jiufen, Keelung Miaokou etc part. Can someone pls help? Thanks!
What's ther eto see at Tianmu? If nothing I'll skip it.
Where else should I go and I've missed out?
How do I go from Taichung to Hualien and how long?
Very stress planning all these to bring hubby there. Pls help me~~

Please help me with the questions!!

1)
I think it will be better to visit Taipei first.
If u visit Taipei first, at least u can visit Ximending and another Night market, nearest is Huaxi NM. Then u can go Taichung in the morning by train which the train leave at 0615 and takes 2.5hrs to reach. At least u can fully utilize ur time and got one full day in Taichung. Anyway if u Taichung first, will u wake up at 6AM on the second day? If no, then going Taipei first and Taichung on second day will force u to wake up early which create 2.5hrs more.
U can check the timing and the time taken to travel around by train in http://service.tra.gov.tw/en/EnTripPlan/index.aspx
2)
Travelling from Taichung to Hualien, u can choose to take train which takes abt 4hrs. And ,most minsu in Hualien will provide fetching from train station, like Stone House minsu.
3)
For ur Taipei planning u still can take my blog timing as my suggestion. http://awbrab.blogspot.com

As for the other qns, u need to tell us wat is ur mode of transport, especially the outskirt of Taipei like Yeliu, Chiufen, Wulai and YMS, b4 u can think abt adding places for the day...

For ur info, YMS, Yeliu and Chiufen is one route. And Wulai and Maokong is one route.

actually, the best way to tour taiwan is to start from taipei, then in a clock wise way, go taiwan one round...

If you are going to Taichung just to "SHOP" and FJ NM, I really dont think it is worth the effort.

YMS >Beitou for hotspring and Danshui on One day

Shifen first(Check timing in Ruifang carefully then return to Rueifang) for Jioufen and Miaokow (One day)

Taipei to Rueifang

Tze Chiang 2031 -- Taipei 07:34 Rueifang 08:14 NTD80 Time40m

Chu Kuang 51 -- Taipei 07:48 Reuifang 08:33 NTD62 Time45m

Rueifang To Shifen

DRC 3209 -- Rueifang 09:00 Shifen 09:28 NTD21 Time28m

DRC 3211 -- Rueifang 09:35 Shifen 10:03 NTD21 Time28m

Shifen to Rueifang

DRC 3214 -- 10:45 11:08 NTD21 Time23m Every day

DRC 3216 -- 12:40 13:03 NTD21 Time23m Every day

DRC 3222 -- 16:40 17:05 NTD21 Time25m Every day
Notice , If you miss the 12.40 train back to Rueifang, the next train is at 16.40 So recheck your timing.

Wulai from Xindian MRT, on your return to and Gongguan Shida another Day.

Yeliou then return to Taipei for Underground shopping,Zhongxiao Dunhua e.t.c. another day .Chengzhong market is Off Bo Ai Road on Wuchang street or entry through the Shoe street. It is more for the Consertive Plus size clothes.

You can leave for Hualien early morning on the 6.45 train and spend a couple of days relaxing there.

This way, morning out of Taipei City then back in city if you or hubby gets tired, you can go back to Hotel torest and then start again later.

For Taroko Gorge, I was impressed by the very 1st valley going from Hualian. It was so vast!

Hi all, i'm going to taipei on 7 June, so excited!!!

Anyway, i checked that there will be heavy rain for almost all the days i'm going. Hence, i need to do a little more planning now.

1) Would like to check if Wu fen pu is indoor or outdoor?
2) How about the rest of the night markets, are they sheltered?
3) Will outdoor night market still operate on rainy days or nights?
4) Will Yehliu be open on heavy rain days?

Re Train Tickets-Forumer PandaSea posted following in TA:

We have book online the train ticket to 花連 prior our arrival to Taipei. The online booking system is super stupid and don't tie with the automatic ticket collecting machine at the Taipei Train station, if you key in a different format of the NRIC no.

The online booking system would require you to input yr NRIC. DO REMEMBER TO USE THIS FORMAT- First char is an alpha, follow by your NRIC no. + 2 zeros (total 9 digits). This is the format that the automatic ticket collection machine will recognised, else, you will have to queue at the counter to collect your ticket. Ticket collection due date is 2 days after your online booking, therefore don't book too early.

Thanx dreamer75 and jasz18 for the info.

I'm going to hualien on my 3rd day and will be staying over for 1 night there. I will be engaging a cab for a day tour at Taroko Gorge. The weather forecast showed that Hualien is bright and sunny for the rest of the week, so now thinking of extending my stay at hualien for another day. Is there other areas worth seeing at hualien? or actually one can't cover everything at Taroko Gorge in a day, hence 2 days may be good? I know that hualien has other water or sea activities, but i'm not really interested in that.

If u r only interested in Taroko Gorge, then a day trip is sufficient.
Else try staying in one of the minsu there. Can visit Hualien Ocean Park if u interested

dreamer, thanx... I'm staying a night at the minsu, Rose garden. Since Taroko Gorge can be covered in a day, then i think i will not extend 1 more day.
