Better change at singapore than at taiwan. The best rate taipei offer me last week is 18.52 (CKS airport is even worst at 18.5)... sucks man

If u want, it will be better to get some travellers cheque in singapore first.

I still got NT$5300 left over from my trip last week. Quite a lot of money. Don't want to change back to SGD and lose money again in the conversion. Good excuse to go Taiwan later this year

Din Tai Feng in Taipei got 2 shops, the main one and the branch. Most people go to the main shop because they thought the branch is not as delicious... But it's just perception. So if you plan to go to the main shop, go early. That time, I went at around 10am, so immediately got seat. Pretty good stuff and I thought some of the waitresses were quite cute (not stunningly pretty, but cute looking).

Also, if you go to Ding Tai Feng main branch, when you exit (facing the road), turn left and go into that alley. About 10m away is a shop called Ice Monster. They're quite famous for their iced fruit (actually, it's only mango and/or kiwi) desserts. It's damn solid! But dunno about the weather. It's monsoon season now and might be too cool/cold to have such iced desserts.
