Gondola idle until next June

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Maokong Gondola, one of Taipei's top tourist attractions, will remain idle until next June at the very least. "We'll have to suspend the cable car service for at least half a year," Mayor of Taipei Hau Lung-bin told a hasty press conference yesterday.

Free bus service offered during closure of Metro Muzha line

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Taipei’s Metro Muzha line will be closed for two days a week starting next Saturday, but free bus shuttles will be available. “No runs will take place on Saturday and Sunday from December 6 to January 18,” a Metro spokesman said yesterday. He said the two-day-a-week suspension is necessary because Taipei Metro will be testing a new electromechanical system.

Hi nuttyazn,
do you know which 2 days per week will it be closed? I'm quite blur, the china post say...No runs will take place on Saturday and Sunday from December 6 to January 18... but the metro website says http://www.trtc.com.tw/e/shownews1.asp?id=1681 the City announced that operations along MRT Muzha Line will be suspended during the weekends between December 6, 2008, and January 18, 2009. Kind of blur if it's suspended on weekends keke..

Based on the information given at the train station when I was in TP earlier this week, it seems that Muzha line will be closed on Sat and Sun for the period that you have listed. During this time, free shuttle bus service will be provided.

Did you bring your ATM card? You can withdraw money from the ATMs displaying the PLUS or Cirrus logo. I believe most banks charge $5 for cash withdrawal, which is debited from your account.

There are quite a few steamboat restaurants at the small lanes near Sogo Shopping Centre in Zhong Xiao Dong Lu area. It is those eat all you can one, and pretty reasonable priced. Only problem is that if you go there during dinner time, the queue can be very long.
