mr chen guang fa tour from hualien is only NT2200 when i went last wk
his phone number can be found in this thread...do a search

according to him, he's a certified tour guide. anyway, find his service quite good, thus would recommend him if you interested. not sure about others as never try their tour before.
Thank you BurntWind and universe for the information!
I'm off to taipei now~!

taking cab is more ex, around NT2500 for a full day and there are a lot of cabs at the train station. no need to book in advance. recommend you to take a tour bus. you can find out more at the visitor center or book through your local hotel at taipei.

currently in hualien now/.
will be in Hualien from 28th to 31st~
you can ride motorcycle... one day NT$500
convert your driving license into international... can rent 50cc bike~
quite easy to go round hualien

Hi BurntWind, looking for Taroko Gorge tour bus for 1/2day on the 3rd Jan 2009 which cost NT$688 but not able to book through the website. Are you able to help me check on this since you are there right now? Alishan too.. so ex for the 1 day tour by the cab.

hi yanny, suggest you take the full day tour because half a day of taroko is not enough, firstly, its a big place and since you are taking a tour bus, means you are going to spend about 10-15mins in one place which you dont have time to wander to the trails etc.

in anycase, i assume you are going hualien from taipei. you can arrange with your local hotel in tp or when you reach hualien train station, you can visit the visitor information or the bus company at the train station to book.

try not to go during weekends. its very crowded and you may be struck in the tunnels as the tour buses may be struck in the one way tunnels.

it seems that sincheng station is very much nearer to taroko gorge, instead of the usual hualien station. anyone tried to get a cab tour from sincheng station b4?
yes...sincheng is much nearer, but all the cabs and bus tours are at hualien train station.

Hi Guys,

Please advice if the following route to jiufen, shifen and keelung is correct plan of route.

1) Take train from Taipei Main Station to Ruifang after which proceed to take train to Shifen
2) From Shifen take train back to Ruifang, after which take bus to Jiufen.
3) From jiufen, take bus to Keelung Night market? <-- can anyone advise the route, the bus and the places to go to keelung for this, and where to alight?

Is the above route the shortest time consuming?

Thanks

Need to know some info on Taipei.

What is the cheapest and best way to get fromt he CKS International Airport to the city Taipei Railway station?

Is there a Direct Bus or a Train going there from the Airport???
and anyone know the price or the trasportation?

Cheers!
Hi, i personally like to take the tour bus from airport to Taipei Railway station.

If you arrive at Terminal 2, exit custom, turn right look for 機場巴士 sign. There is a number of booths. i always use 國光客運. cost NT$125. It has the least numbers of stops to Taipei Railway station. Travel time is about an hour. Depending on traffic. Seats are okie to me.

If you arrive at Terminal 1,exit custom, and the 機場巴士 should on your left.
