xuvilm,
where did u take the taroko bus and how to book the tour bus? at the tourists center?
How long is the tour and is it rush? many tks.
yes book at the tourist centre for the NT988 bus

but u can request to book the NT700 also there la..., they will help u. unless you prefer to go directly to the agency then u just walk straight from the station, then turn left (if i rem correctly). its the direction to the nearest mcd from the station. the office located near bubble tea shop i think....

the tour from 8 til 4.30 ( longer than it supposed to. should end ard 4pm), hmm although sounds rush coz each trail the driver will giv us 50mins , but enough time to slowly see the scenery, walk slowly, take pic.... , and no worries coz the driver will wait for you. wont leave u 1...

the NT988 tour normally will mix with japs tourist who booked from japan travel agent 1 - when i board, the rest of the passagers are fr jap except for 2 which i dunno fr where...

not sure abt the NT700 tour.. heard its using a smaller bus....

----------------------

i ans the others question also here :
i spent ard $334 for bkk-taipei flight and ard $150+ from jb-bkk, bkk-sg, so total ard $500
but a bit troublesome la..., the SQ deal sounds great ... too bad that time dun hav such deal

Hi All,

I'll be going to my first trip to Taiwan this coming Feb and need some help in planning my itinerary.
I'm intending to go to Kaohsiung after landing in Taipei (5.40pm) and then proceeding to Chiayi for Alishan the next day. Is it possible? and how do I go about it? Which THSR station can I take to Kaohsiung? Any recommendation for tour guide at Alishan?

Thanks in advanced.

I plan to fly to Taiwan on 1 Feb - 11 Feb.

Promotion on SIA is only valid for two to travel @$598/pax so I just wanted to find another person who happens to fly during that period.

Any one interested can contact me @ bomckay@hotmail.com.

Thanks

My family & I are going to Taipei from 26 Jan to 30 Jan.
First day, we intend to go Shilin but is the night market open?
2nd day, we would like to go to Shifen, 放天灯, visit Shifen waterfalls, then proceed to Jiufen, then Raohe Night Market. I did a google search and found that shifen waterfalls may be closed. Any one know when it will re-open or is it open now? Any idea how much it cost to take the cab from Ruifang to qingtong (菁桐)? How long will it takes? Can we take cab from Shifen railway station to Shifen Waterfalls? How much will it cost?

If you do still have the name of the agency and the contact no., please let me know. Thanks alot. Do you have to pay first in Singapore or when we are going there in taipei?
you can book at the visitor information center at the hualien train station. if you wanna reserve, call them up.
