Hi, I just went to the Guess X3 recording last Oct.
1) No tickets required, can just go there to queue to get in
Yes, No tickets is needed. Studio at B2 of the building

2) Need to call up to book a place first
For 5 or more people, 1 or 2 person can just walk in.

3) Must tell that you are singaporean then get more chance to enter
Nope, haha.... i don't think singaporean have special privileges.

4) Need to pay for tickets
It's FREE.

5) Recording from 1pm to 11pm, no meals in between
6) Recording only 4 hrs from 2pm to 6pm.
Normally, they have 2 recordings on alternate Mondays.
The following is what happened on my trip.

Called to check: they replied 12noon recording.
Went earlier at 11.30am. Then waited till 12.30; the door to studio opened.
See see look look around till 1.30-2pm then got person to organise sitting area.
Recording started without hosts first (jacky, aya, guests and ...)
#Actual recording may not follow the sequence as what he see on TV
Guests came around 2.45pm and hosts at 3pm. the recording continued after a small break.
Recording continued till 5pm, have a small break and then ended at around 7pm.

The floor quite hard, sit for 7hours, the back side numb numb.

#You can take taxi from the closest mrt. Kun Yang station, I thnk SGD$3++ to the TV station.

Ya, have to go once for exprience, very fun.

Cheers! have fun!

Jioufen 九份 (Best To Go On Weekdays)
  • Taipei Main Station 台北车站 > Cross the road using an overhead bridge from the train station > Take Keelung Bus 基隆客运巴士 > The bus stop is in front of a clinic with a blue signboard > The service to Jioufen has a sign that reads 基隆 > 九份 > 金瓜石 OR
  • Zhongxiao Fuxing Station 中孝复兴 > Exit 1 > Take the bus that reads 基隆 > 九份 > 金瓜石 (Takes about 1hr 45mins) - NT90 OR
  • Board a railway train to Rueifang Railway Station 瑞芳站 > Transfer to a Keelung bus outside the station.
  • After alighting from the train > Exit the station & walk to the front of the railway station > The road in front of the station is Mingdeng Road Sec 3. If you are going to Jioufen or Jinguashih 金瓜石, you would need to cross Mingdeng Road Sec 3 to the bus stop just outside the shops & café > Take the Keelung bus heading to "Jinguashih" for Jioufen. The bus will terminate at Jinguashih. Bus fare: NT22 (To Jiufen/Jinguashih same bus fare). The bus journey uphill takes about 20mins (to Jiufen)
  • Alight at the Old street (Chishan Street) stop along the road bend > You can see the 7-11 convenience store
[For return: Can take a Keelung Bus directly to Taipei > Stops at Raohe St Night Market 绕河夜市 or Zhongxiao Fuxing Station Stop (竽圆,果冻 from Ah Xing's stall,Li Yi Bing Dian (李仪饼店) OR Li Gu Bing Dian (李鹄饼店) 太阳饼,凤梨酥,芋头酥,Mochi). Li Yi has opened a new outlet at Taipei Main Station Front Metro Mall]
Hi everyone,

in the above listed methods, what is the fastest/comfort way to get to Jiufen? Bus all the way from taipei or Train to Ruifang then switch to bus?

If going by train, what is the train schedule like?

I will suggest take the train to Ruifang. Cuz you dun normally get the chance to sit in a train, right? I mean, Choo Choo Train kind of train, if you get the idea. Of cuz, unless, you are those who always take railway train to M'sia..

As for train schedule... i recommend you queue up and buy from the human counter. Maybe you can try reading the train schedule board, that is, if you are able to decipher what's written on there! I tried, and bought the tix at the automated tix machine, only to find out from the gantry auntie that my tix were the wrong one. Lucky can change.

Please note that there are different kind of trains: 復興號/區間車, 莒光號 & 自強號 in increasing order of price and comfort. 自強號 is the fastest, i think, with fewer stops in between.

Besides, upon reaching Ruifang, you can walk around there and eat some snacks. Its a very quiet place, with few people. Then you can take the bus to Jiufen, which isnt very far in my opinion. You can drop by Jiufen 1st, or you can continue sitting 1 (or was it 2?) more stop to Jin Gua Shi. If you dunno which direction to take, juz ask the bus uncle, or the people in Ruifang, or people in the bus queue. I GUARANTEE you that they will try their best to guide you, with a smile on the face somemore.

Some additional-but-not-important facts: Ruifang is the hometown of Nono, the taiwanese comedian. And Keelung is the hometown of Xiao Zhu.

Hope i helped!
