just back yesterday..the weather is hot now.but occassionally will rain suddenly and stop suddenly also..so better bring umbrella.

For those travelling by HSR, there are now free shuttle service for individual stop to some places of interests within that HSR station. It is free to take and back to HSR station

Hi Darren, FutureStar is definitely comfortable enough ba. We kinda like it. It is near to Xi Men Ding Mrt Station. And Xi Men Ding Square is just beside. And the place isn't that noisy at all. Friendly customer service also.

Actually I'm Fine with any arrangement. As long the rates are competitive.

The main concern will be my son who is 18 months travelling with us and on top of that the quality of the hotel, must be slightly more comfortable.

Southern Taiwan cities issue special tourist passports

The passport features several themes, including National Park and scenic area tours, classic railway stations tour, 100 selected food stands, night markets, and shopping in the southern areas of Taiwan.

The passport also includes a book of coupons for discounts at restaurants, hotels, theme parks, and shops.

In addition, the book of coupons features a "10 dollar special zone" discount, which would allow visitors to stay an extra night at some hotels for only NT$10.
The passports are available free of cost at all stations of the Taiwan High Speed Rail, the Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung stations of Taiwan Railway and at all highway service areas.

The passports and coupons can also be download for free at
http://117.56.112.122/group/htm/2009summer/isummer.
The special promotion is valid for the period July to September.

Hello People,

....... - Kending - back to Taipei

I have 15 days in Taiwan, but is anyone familiar with Taiwan transport to advise on time saving bus & train methods? Thanks alot
forumer Dragonking posted;

You may want to check out http://uukt.idv.tw

the best webby for anything kenting. Click on the map and it has locations of minsus and restaurants. You can click on the minsus to check out pricings and also photos. Lots of info there.

We stayed at this one http://uukt.idv.tw/inn/126.htm

and loved it. Got a room that overlooked the sea and had good sunset view. Boss is a nice young man.

Actually, if you can ride a scooter, it is quite a cool idea to stay at some places nearer the beach or quieter with nicer sceneries. The youths there tend to rent scooters when in kenting.

But if not, then staying near the main street where all the shops, restaurants and the night market are, would be better.

Read my post on Southern Taiwan tourist passports.
