Is Asus cheaper in Taiwan?

Will be going to Taipei during the christmas period and planning to buy a laptop. Was wondering if local brands like Acer/Asus are cheaper if buying from Taiwan itself? Nowadays Asus have international warranty so would consider buying from there if considerably cheaper.

Anyone has any experience or recommendations?

CheerS!

光华商城 (2 blocks from zhongxiao xinsheng mrt) got many budget MIT notebooks.
I bought my generic Acer 65W power adapter for $400 NT on the 5th floor. Higher floors are repairs or accessories.

Great, thanks for the headsup - btw what is MIT?
I'm planning to get something of higher end - not really budget - will that be cheaper in Taiwan as compared to buying in Singapore?

燦坤3C many branches, like Challenger stores but multiple floors, all over Taiwan.
光华 is like Sim Lim Square of the 1995~2000.
