Travelling to Taiwan with 2 kids

Hi All,

Is it safe for lady to travel with 2 kids, 8 years old and 11 years old to travel to Taiwan? First time travelling to Taiwan.
Thinking of hiring a private driver to drive us around, want to bring the kids to farms and fruit pickings etc....
Any recommended places for kids to go?
Normally what is the price per day like for private driver? So we just send them the itineraries and they will plan the route for us?

Yes.
It is totally safe.
Just a matter of convenience to go around with driver.
You have 2 old enough kids.
I supposed Taipei will be a simple feat.
If you need any advise, feel free to ask here or even PM me.

There is a thread regarding place of interest and farms, you can take a look.

Taiwan is very safe, You can list out your interest and places you want to go, we can help you out. Fruit picking depend on season. Hire driver usually is around 3500 ntd per day but some changes depend of your route.

You kids is quiet big already, you can experience some diy in Taipei and day trip.

Thanks all for your advice, appreciate it.

Any reliable and good driver to recommend? saw a lot of recommendations from other thread but think most of it is self-recommend one, not sure is trustable or not.

As this is the first time to plan F&E trip, any tips/advice as to how to go about planning it. Should I book air-ticket and look for driver at the same time?

Normally book air ticket first but if you happen to go a place only open certain day of the week then you may want to check out first then book. Driver is last to worry, you need to have a plan first then fill in all the attractions you are interested. After itinerary is almost complete then start looking for driver or if it's only city tour e.g. Taichung, you can book taxi for a day 3500 ntd.
If you need help in your planning, you can list your the places you are interested.
E.g. cingjing green green grassland (farm) sheep show only on weekend.

PS: if air ticket got promo, book first if cheaper.

1. Air tickets (book first, in case the dates you want is more expensive, you can shift your dates)
2. Book accomodations (if possible, book those with free cancellations, in case your flight got delayed or rescheduled)
3. Book your driver (many to choose from, take your time)

For air tickets, time to time, full fledged airline have $400 promo.
Currently, Eva have $408, Singapore Airlines have $398 promo ...
China airline is $400+ ... sometimes good promo can get $300 to $375 (rare, but do happens at times)

Eva and SQ is 5* , but eva timing not so ideal ...
SQ promotion fare, normally timing not so good ...
China airline timing is ideal, but would go for SQ if possible ...
Budget airline promotional fare, usually 160 to 220 ...
rarely they would have $70 two way taxes in ...

Like why others have mentioned, your kids are old enough for this to be a great F&E trip.

Sort out the tickets first.

Accommodation, use booking.com etc, whichever that allows u to have free cancellatiln cancellation beforehand.

Lastly, itinerary wise, there are tons of advice here. Primarily, you need to share on (1) duration, (2) preference (outdoor adventurous type, or indoor shopping etc) and (3) locations (any must go place etc).

For accomodation wise, usually would go for agoda or expedia ...
Prices shown at hotels.com and expedia usually similiar ...
both r under one parent company ...

agoda and booking.com belongs to another parent company ...
agoda usually would give you discount voucher, booking.com no have ...

For customer service, agoda is a better choice.
They would provide you with solutions when hotel cancelled or reject your bookings.
For booking.com, their staff just says "there is nothing much we can do"
