Wah they're expanding fast. Wonder is which rebranded China brand TV :s8:
|
IPS + HDR + certified Netflix and it cost almost the same as xiaomi TV. Making me regret my xiaomi TV purchase lol

Wow @ this kind of price, 55inch is really insane. Did anyone head down to take a look? Very tempting.
|

|
any bro at teh show saw teh actual unit?
wondering how's the performance |
LG IPS panel, quite epic
599 for 55" is unbeatable wonder when will the 65" come out |

compared to mainstream brands, what are the "some ways" you meant?

picture quality not as good... seems to be quite 'laggy' when playing 4k?
Colours seems quite dim as well... not to mention the display set had it's audio having issues (checked with and confirmed by salesperson), even at max volume close to no sound. |
I went down to see the EON TV as well. Price is great, but picture quality looks below-par if you ask me honestly.
They mentioned that it was a LG IPS Panel with HDR, but image colors didn't look very particularly vibrant. Cannot compare with the S$1k+ Samsung or LG TVs. I think it looked inferior to even the TCL brand TV's they sell at Giant supermarket. Just my personal opinion. Didn't have too much time to inspect, so do take with pinch of salt |
sound like not really worth it then
|
Is prism using webos or android?
|
If its running full android tv OS sure will state and advertise big big as selling point. Never state at all in the spec sheet so can safely assume its running on some other form of smart tv os.

Prism+ is competing with Xiaomi TV at a similar price range, and now there's global version of Xiaomi TV that comes with Android TV OS too. |
if can install dsvideo - it will be damn worth

A couple of new articles posted on Prism's FB page, talking about the Prism+ TV line
https://geekculture.co/singapores-pr...HXwd554_E25YFs https://www.asiaone.com/digital/home...Tp1XRW4LDfSHuw Funny how Prism is calling them rave "reviews" when there's hardly any reviewing being done and they are clearly nothing more than paid for marketing material. Almost the entire article involves regurgitation of specifications of the 3 models. But at least its confirmed the tv is running on custom OS with some form of app store. Also since its not base on android, so can totally forget about sideloading or installing any android apps. Also, got people asking on Prism fb page whether these tv are using oled panel? Like seriously $559 55' 4k oled? Maybe made of paper and need to burn then can receive:s22:. |
Also no built-in tuner

The price is really attractive

I saw the TV earlier at Tech Show. IMHO, the image quailty of the TV based on contrast, vibrancy and sharpness, it is not on par with the leading brands like Samsung, Sony etc. The moment I look at it, I think this is not the one for me.
Of course, if you are on budget or wants it as a spare TV or you are someone who is not okok with simple and workable stuff will-do kind... then can go for it... :) |
their discount supposed to end after tech show but now still running. they keep extending 😂😂😂. I am honestly quite tempted to buy
|
Aiyar.....Prism forever running some kind of promo on their site one after another. After IT show end, still got post IT show promo. Keep on extending endlessly until the next IT fair comes along and then promo again. If not in desperate need for new tv, suggest to wait abit at least until there are proper reviews or complaints from those brave early adopters. Base on Prism's track record with their monitors, 1st batch of stock for new models likely to have issues. Also wait to see whether Prism will sell their TV on lazada. Prism prices during lazada flash sale are easily 20% or more cheaper than IT fair prices.

and it is not android then forget it la...

Depends on one's needs and usage. For me, whether smart tv running on android tv OS or otherwise is not a deal breaker or end all be all. Most folks should be sufficiently satisfied as long there is youtube and netflix app. Besides one can simply purchase a $30 standalone android tv box if there is such a need to run android apps.
A more relevant concern here is this since the Prism tv are using LG panel https://www.techhive.com/article/324...esolution.html It seems like LG are still using this kind of RGBW panels on their entry level 4k tvs. Are the Prism tv using this kind of LG panel? Can't say for sure but definitely something to keep in mind. |

TV is not just price. Those branded TVs are there for a reason (screen panel, processor, build quality, software, after sales service and warranty). Do look out for those things before u get a new TV.

Hi guys,
I am looking for a gaming TV with 4K and HDR. And preferably not larger than 49". I read the TCL has won accolades for gaming TV with its "5-series" and "6-series". But I am confused which models are the right ones. And seems like overseas and domestic markets carry different models. And that added to my confusion. Anyone can point me in the right direction please? |
Sorry for the newbie question. What is the difference between Smart TV and Android TV?

i was there for 2 days basically you pay for what you get. Picture Quality simply way off in terms of color contrast etc.
|
Just a note, Human sight are auto adaptive, if two person watch the same shows on different TV and do not compare two TVs side by side, they wouldn't know any differences for what they have seen in terms of vibrant and accuracy of the TV color.
