Lol there are more CC / Insurance Booths rather than IT booths..And the IT booths day in day out the products are sama sama..No new products etc so actually what the point of going?

If at Suntec (Near My office) i might just dropby take a look which is normally less than 1hr walkabout...@ Expo forget it ..cos long way to Expo and furthermore parking is Damn @ there

Worse still, walk past them, tell them not interested and they still challenge you why you not interested. Seriously cannot get the idea that their presence is not welcomed

Only I wish those PC promoter can be as knowledgeable as those credit card/Insurance promoters.

The show is kind of strange. Even car is there too.

The aggressiveness of CC promoters are the main turn off for me. I hope organizers can draw a box for them to stand in and are not allowed step out of it, like what was done to flyer distributers some shows ago.

somehow feel everything in SG is dying like that. even the tech show also super cannot make it. no deals, no hype, why would anyone still want to go? just a matter of time before the shows walk themselves into their tomb and history.

Not just the prices and the inconvenience of travelling, I think the other problem the electronics everywhere is already becoming too good enough and saturated, which makes the market very dull.

PC CPU/RAM/mobo/SSD can easily last for at least 5 years, and now I see new phones also sian ji bua liao, why waste money to upgrade? Booooooring.

I've not been to IT fairs for at least 5 yrs alr. These days, IT fairs promos cn be found at neighbourhood shops and lazada, why bother to travel down??

Also, if u shop on other websites like amazon, the electronics items can be up to 30% cheaper, even after shipping and taxes....

So what's so attractive about IT fair now?

Throngs of visitors over the weekend dates. The appeal must be there still?

Might be looking for a replacement printer at the next one.

The atmosphere is also one thing. A decade ago IT Fairs were very 'entertaining' with the presence of event showgirls. I bet those old bird would remember the Sony showgirls during the period of 2007-2010 in Suntec level 3. And they even have the tech showcase in which the showgirls walked around the stage show showing the latest Sony products just like the IT Show/ COMEX Babes 2-3 years back.
nVidia used to release their new cards at IT shows. I remember the GeForce4 Ti 4(8/6/4)00 cards were released during one of the shows.
noiseloops likes this.
