Do you use the free 1 year subscription or install free ones like AVG/AVAST ?

Thanks.

Is it McAfee?

For me, I'll install and use it for 1 year, then uninstall it and use Windows Defender instead (for my Windows OS laptop).

Yes. McAfee.
Can forget about McAfee. You will be better if you use Windows defender. Now Windows defender even have anti-ramsonware and folder protection. It can roll back to the original status when ransomware try to encrypt your files. You can add Malwarebytes to your com for more protection. You can use Comodo DNS to filter. My router got Trend Micro but i also add comodo DNS to filter just to enhance a bit of security. My backup data encrypted and in safe. Data in my com is encrypted too. Many things can be done for security purpose.

Thanks for the info. How is Defender compared to AVAST or AVG ? I guess AVAST would be better than AVG, but with Defender ?

I can uninstall McAfee and use Defender or AVAST.
