Well it's a FTP server. Why not ? Is Android preventing this or just the app ?
It's the limitation of FTP as it is design mainly for downloading files.

If you are using windows to manage the FTP share, FileZilla I believe can do what you require.

If you transfer files often, maybe you should see if there is any app that uses samba (SMB/CIFS)

I'm trying to use my box like a NAS... not heavy duty.
It is better to set up a samba host on android box, you can do whatever you want - move, copy, delete, play... etc.

By the way, if your router has USB port for harddisk, it is better to connect a harddisk at the router and you can use it as NAS.

For more information about android box, visit the facebook group - "new tv box sg"

What type of android box you have? If it comes with USB port then most probably the Samba services (smbd & nmbd) would come with it.

If you have shell access, then do a ps aux|grep smbd to check whether it's running.

Not too sure the script to start/stop samba in android, think it's samba-rc restart

Hi. Need some advise here.
Which is better in your opinion. tanix tx3 mini or mibox international version. I personally like tanix UI but mibox have better hardware according to users here. I use it for streaming various live tv apps, hk Chinese drama. Thanks~~

Install and use original apps like YouTube, Yahoo Mail, Dropbox & WhatsApp etc. is not an issue.

Even if you don't update, still working well. The problems are usually arising from apps that are shady, and download illegal contents. If you use original stuff like Netflix, don't think would give users any trouble.

So, always use a reputable antivirus app, and established apps which doesn't infringe other's intellectual property.
I'm planning to subscribe to Netflix and Viu, which Android box is good?

you need a box certified by netflix.

e.g mibox international version.

For viu , you have to run it on handphone and chromecast to mibox. You have to be premium subscriber.

For netflix, you can run from hp and chromecast to mibox, or run on mibox directly.

Netflix is the least restrictive. You can buy any android box. I have a Roku device, that can play Netflix. But Amazon prime cannot play. Amazon prime is very restrictive. Even their own Firestick also cannot play Amazon prime outside US.
