People's aspirations also rising..last time got rewritable dvd drive ppl including me queue for 2-3 hours..
Yeah.. good old times.. during then I remember still going to WTC (before vivocity existed) for the IT shows

Worse still, walk past them, tell them not interested and they still challenge you why you not interested. Seriously cannot get the idea that their presence is not welcomed
Like dirt sticking to your shoes.. hard to get rid off

No.1 problem is rising costs.

Something has got to give and it now solely focusses on the true reason to hold these shows - to move inventory and create sales.

If perhaps they make it more controlled, charge people entry fees like NATAS, maybe the rental might be lower and thus the brands can spend on other frills to beef up their presence.

However, a lot of these shows are now primarily participated by retailers and distributors - not many brands are directly investing to create their own presence at these shows. They will tie up with a retailer of choice to ensure their goods are sold.

Chicken and egg problem.
This kind of behkan standard.. if still charge admission fees.. will become a ghost town..

Most important point for me is the price. Go IT show i expect to snag something for a very good price. Nowhere to be found in singapore. Yet the prices like always the same whether got fair or not. So nowadays i just wait for the lazada sale or black friday sale to buy.

Also many CC and insurance promoters.. no idea why they are there in the first place

Most of the deals you can get elsewhere (or even same shop) outside of the show... but there is some novelty to going and seeing the crowds.

Creative is the only stall I go to now.
Because it is the only place where I can experience sound equipment without store keeper interrupting or hard selling.
