Hi, I’m looking to something that can show tvb anywhere on the big screen..

Can check with you does Mi Box S officially support tvb anywhere +?

Thanks !

For me it is only needed for TVB Anywhere + Mobile screen mirroring and Huawei Wireless Projection.

TVB Anywhere+ TV version works under TX5 Max so the screen mirroring is not necessary now.

I have bought a Ugreen USB Type-C dock to work with my Huawei P20 phone for EMUI desktop mode but it causes the phone to overheat so the experiment failed. The other way is to use Wireless projection which works only with Miracast.

Again not strictly needed because DLNA cast works for my apps like Youku. But it is still good to get Miracast working on Tanix TX5 Max because it is the best of my boxes yet it is the only one which does not work with Miracast.

Or maybe I will buy a USB Type C to HDMI converter and forget about Miracast on Tanix TX5 Max.

Wow.. thanks

Seems like there are a few models on the market..

The correct one should be mi box S, international version ?

Anyway to identify it so that we won’t get the wrong model?

Thanks!

It can be installed and run on mibox, but the video quality is extremely poor.

Hopefully tvb can improve the app, else not recommended. Adrama is a better alternative, can be installed from playstore.

Another positive review of Tanix TX5 Max
https://youtu.be/SHwNOZAc87s

But the host makes it clear, if you need Netflix, get Mi Box Global or Mi Box S.

He mentioned this box has the best WiFi speed among all boxes he tested and indeed I got more than 250Mbps and my box is rather far away from the router with one door in between.

The one thing he was surprised is the gaming streaming from PC. The performance is good (1080p 60fps) as per the review. I am not into gaming so I have never tried this.

He has some nice reviews as well.

Are you using the Basic Zone (free) or the Premium Zone (paid subscription required)

The basic zone has limited video and indeed the video quality is not that good.

I will think the Premium Zone should be better.

S922X Box should be good if you are willing to pay. Just wait for a while to see how are the reviews. Beelink is probably a better brand than Ugoos.

Reviews are on the way.

Yes that is supposedly the same as Beelink GT1 King.

But if you want the best Android TV box money can buy, get Nvidia Shield TV. It will beat RK3399 and S922X to the dust.

It is not about the zones. I tested the same videos on phone and mibox. The videos have 3 resolutions. First one has good resolution with jittering video. Second one is slightly smoother. Third one is smooth but the video is less than 240p.

When played on phone, no jittering problem even at the best resolution.

Due to the app.

Adrama can be installed from the box's playstore and run from the box. You can also install in your phone and chromecast to mibox. It has tvb dramas and many other drama.

Try it on your phone first before buying the box.

For Mandarin movies, there are many free and paid apps. For example, you can use free Transocks VPN and free Youku/Tencent Video (TV version of the apps are also available, called 酷喵影视 and 云视听极光). If you pay for Youku VIP or Youku TV VIP (酷喵影视VIP), then no need VPN.

Or you can use Google if you do not want to go with the above options.
I tried buying e youku TV version subscription on taobao but they told me overseas not possible. Any suggestions on how to do it?

You can pay through Apple App Store in-app purchase if have iOS device.

If not then it is a bit problematic, you have to use WeChat Pay or Alipay on Android.

Or just ask any friend with iOS device to help.
