Looking at 2x2TB 2 bay nas. Which brand of UI is more user friendly?
Purpose: monthly backup of company data. Doesn't need cloud feature.
WD red will be the default choice for the HDD right.

the + series always the best if you need to do heavy downloading, streaming movies from NAS or using plex server.

yes those have no HDD included.

and that picture you showed is not a NAS. it is a external HDD.

do you want a external HDD or a NAS? they have hugely different feature set

It's all about luck.

Some say Samsung sucks but some note 5 still going strong.

If that is the case, any hard disk will do. No need to select WD Red.

How about asustor? I find that the specs are better than Synology for the price

Equally good.

Asustor upnp supports embedded soft subs
Asustor OS with 3.0 is user friendly but could be better

Synology upnp does not support embedded soft subs
Synology 6.x dsm is extremely user friendly

Good question.

I'm looking for a nas with raid 1 initially but my company have decided to store the data for off-site storage

If you are really looking into NAS, You will stumbled across Synology thread. Inside have all the info you need.

M not here to feed your ego

Is your own loss for not listening to people's advice and being so stuck up.
