Just went to Paul's Tailor @ Armari last week during my stay in Bangkok.

Was disappointed with the service & quality of the work there... Made 3 shirts and the initial try out was that all 3 shirts had different cutting. Out of the 3, 2 need to alter the sleeve & the side of the shirt.

Thinking that all was fine, i paid for the rest of the amount & decided to ask them to deliver to my hotel after the alteration. Upon receiving the shirts, again the 3 shirts were not of the same cutting.

Totally disappointed with their workmanship & their constants sarcasm & dissuading me not to alter and it looks fine. Quotes like "alter already cannot change back har!" & "next time u must say super slim fit" when their slim fit for all 3 shirts is DIFF !

est reaching bkk hotel ard 7pm+ and going back sg on 24dec afternoon flight.

not sure enough time to tailor shirts at Crown anot.s

shinigaimi28 12-10-2011 11:04 PM

I did mine @ amari watergates with The Paul.

The clothes are in 750 baht & 1000 baht range.

The pants are in 1250 baht & 1500 baht.

Bought 3 shirts & 2 pants. Choose the higher range.

First time doing it. So far, quite ok. I am not the fussy type.

As long as it is cheaper than singapore, I am quite happy. haha.

grantt 14-10-2011 12:53 AM

With shirts & suits, all tailors can do within 3 days. Just make sure you go to them when you arrive and they should sort you out!

Review Tailor on Ten

Recently went to bkk to get some shirts tailored and just wanted to write and review.

Been to bkk a few tims and so far had clothing made from Jhasper, Moonriver by VJ and Tailor on ten.

Best one so far is Tailor on Ten, hands down. I would recommend them to anyone. They are two brothers, Alex and Ben (angmo) operating a small tailor shop on Soi 10. But they were in the midst of moving to a larger shopfront on Soi 8. (Closest BTS NANA station)

Prices are on the higher side compared to the others but its definately worth it, the material and tailorship is great!...They dont display cheap fabric like the other tailors, it pretty much all good quality even the blended cottons. I opted for the mid range, the 100% premium cotton shirt, it costed 1700bhat and got a Blended wool suit costed 7000bhat. Prices are stated on the website (google tailor on ten), and their is no bargaining. You could tell the 1700bhat fabric was on the higher end.

Had about 6 shirts and 1 suit done with them, the experience was good, very accommodating. Service was great and they would go thru every detail to customize your shirts for you. Im very happy in the end. Had only 4 days, did two fittings and they had to rush everything for me and brought the finished product to my hotel just in time for my flight. The style is exactly what i wanted and good quality crafmanship.

Let them know Leroy from Singapore sent ya:D

For those thinking of getting cheap shirts and jumping on the bandwagon like i did two years ago, better think twice. Its much more cost efficient by paying a bit more for the quality of fabric then to pay 1000bhat to 1400bhat for a crappy shirt that only last a few months.

Any of you guys been to Bangkok recently with all the floods? Crown has put up some sort of wall in front of their store. Very interesting! hahaha. I just saw the picture on their facebook page. :s13:

trancepot 10-11-2011 11:39 AM

i normally frequent boss for my shirts. wondering if anyone have pricing for suits from boss and crown? can't remember the prices off hand. which would you recommend out of the 2 for suits?

thanks :)

grantt 12-11-2011 07:10 PM

I personally would definitely recommend Crown out of the 2. More experience and excellent service! Make sure you have the fittings though if you are going to have suits made.

anaeemi41 14-11-2011 04:39 AM

I guess both Boss & Crown are a good choice.

leogeo 16-11-2011 12:19 AM

how much are the price range for shirts and pants at crown?

mikepang 17-11-2011 06:22 PM

crown is on the higher range than boss and jhasper

leogeo 19-11-2011 02:06 PM

any tailor can do pants + blazer for less than $150?

mikepang 19-11-2011 07:55 PM

you should go in and ask for a suit (which is pants+blazer). Will be in your budget of $150-160. But don't go for cheaper than that as fabric might not be good looking. Try Jhasper as they are quite reasonable & good.

Well, as you adequately said yourself (indirectly) that a bit higher price would give you a better fabric. So isn't a good tailor who's on a higher range better than others, as far I am concerned I prefer paying a few bucks extra to my trusted tailor rather than getting ripped off looking for extra-cheap suiting. Though boss has its own worth and i would recommend it as well, but no experience with Jhasper so no comments about it.

grantt 23-11-2011 07:15 AM

I agree - if Crown is slightly on the higher/expensive side, it would still be better to get quality over cheapness. At least in my opinion!

Higher price doesn't assure quality always. It can mean rent expenses, subcontracting expenses, brandname etc. but I feel they have a reasonable price with good quality as compared to other shops...and with good service. What I meant to say is that you should go for a higher quality fabric with them as other shops will charge you higher for the same quality of fabric. I would say Jhasper is value for money!

leogeo 23-11-2011 06:02 PM

is Crown as expensive as Tailor on Ten?

Mountain_Tortorise 23-11-2011 08:25 PM

will the tailors be open on CNY? i intend to fly over during CNY period...

grantt 26-11-2011 01:35 AM

Not as far as I'm aware. Tailor on ten is probably on the more expensive side..previous poster mentioned 1700 and also angmo owned. Probably better to visit some shops and decide ;)

kayabuttertoast 27-11-2011 10:33 PM

Hey hey people~

Any idea on how much it would cost to make a female's blazer? And if it'd look good... :S

Mountain_Tortorise 28-11-2011 08:59 PM

Do they accept credit card payments?

i recently tailored a 2pc men's suit from boss ave, mid range for 5400b. starting range is 4000b. crown/pinky start from 8000b.

as for if it'll look good, it depends much on the wearer. if i post your photo maybe i can comment. :D

Great experience

I decided to look up crown tailors during my stay in Bangkok hoping to score a suit or two at good rates for me to take back with me. But I was a bit concerned as I donít know much about styles and fashion. Thanks to crown tailors and their great customer care the whole task was cut out for me. They helped with the fabric, the colour and the style. All I had to do was stand let them do their work. And I did get them at a good price. Highly recommended.

Suzain 30-11-2011 01:12 AM

urgent delivery

I was recently on in Bangkok on a business trip from my office. My boss was initially meant to go but I had to fill up for him at the last moment. There were quite a few meetings to attend. So I decided to get some suits made for that as I had a few days on my hand before the meetings were due. From a local acquaintance of mine I was led to crown tailors. I was measured up and helped in choosing the fabric. But most importantly the suits were made in the very short time I provided them. The end result was pretty decent itself.

grantt 30-11-2011 02:25 AM

I got mine for 5350 bahts, no where near 8000 actually :s31:
may be they have raised thier prices. its easy find them on google and ask them before landing in BKK.

that was the price that i remembered from 1-2yrs back. same price range as pinky's (8/10k)

if it was 5-6k then i should have gone to them instead. might not might not be a good thing though. never had good experience with crown. the 2 shirts i had from them had 3-4 fittings and alteration and is still bad. retiring the shirts for good. much as i think well of their workmanship, i can never get the fitting right. that's why i did not pay them a visit when i went last month.

JAYBAOKONG 05-12-2011 09:47 AM

Hi all,

For those who have made your shirts with Jhasper, can anyone advise the price range for a shirt? On their website, it's stated to be USD40.

What about the price range for a shirt made from Crown?

I'm thinking of trying both Crown and Jhasper out this time round.

I'm trying to check out the price range before i head to bkk this friday.

My apologies if this has been asked before.

Thanks.

terrykid 05-12-2011 09:48 PM

i am visiting crown & paul tailor tomorrow, shall update when I return (:

eth0_21 07-12-2011 11:21 PM

PLEASE be careful if you are gonna take a taxi to any of these recommended tailors(listed in this thread). Some taxi drivers will say.. "oh shop close blah blah etc etc" and will recommend to send you to James Tailor or Brioni Tailor for free ! free cab ride but wasted my time going down to those 2 tailors...

thankfully i didn't buy anything from those 2 tailors and went down to Crown. madea suit and 3 shirts. Very happy with the end product.

evoevo 08-12-2011 02:26 PM

If I reach bkk at 24 dec sat morning and leaving on 26
Mon Noon, will it be enough time for them to tailor?

Thanks!

ohhwat 08-12-2011 04:44 PM

JAYBAOKONG 11-12-2011 08:21 AM

Alright! Just an update.. Went to jhasper yesterday and made 4 shirts.. Their Egyptian cotton cost THB1800, which is pretty reasonable... And the normal range is THB1200.

So far their service is not too bad.. Will see the end products..

I did go to crown too, but find their service so so.. Anyway didn't make with them cos they might not be able to deliver my clothes by tuesday..

Actually its not any cheaper compared to Singapore. Probably only suit is cheaper?

grantt 12-12-2011 12:50 AM

Crown have some cheap suits around 5000 ish and shirts like 1000 baht, so quite good pricing.

anaeemi41 24-12-2011 06:00 AM

yeah I got a similar price from Crown Tailors.
