Hi everyone, I have recently started playing metro exodus enhanced edition and I was pretty disappointed with the graphics when I set everything to max at my native resolution 1080p. This was without DLSS or VRS so it should look the best, or at least that's what I thought.

So I went to enable DSR to upscale my resolution to 4k and enabled DLSS to see if there are any big differences. Well anyway I found the results pretty interesting so I've decided to share them.

Some blur for 4k dlss. Like some spots seem to have lens where it's out of focus...

Did anyone do a reshade comparison, downsampling and use a sharpening filter?

Personally i think 4K DLSS looks a lot sharper especially in the distance where the anti-aliasing effect looks the most obvious. Take a look at the 2nd scene where the bald tree in the middle looks like it has grown more branches in the 4k shot.

Does DLSS Quality just run it as close as possible to set resolution? If so, how is it that 4K DLSS achieves a better avg frame rate than 1080p?

Honestly I have no idea. DLSS Quality, Balanced and Performance should be rendering at 1447p, 1253p and 1080p respectively. Technically it should still have lower avg FPS than 1080p but the numbers dont seem to add up. The fact that those screenshots are at 4k resolution and the fact that it does indeed look better than the 1080p ones don't lie. So I really have no clue why it also runs better than 1080p native.

Decided to try the new Nvidia DLDSR feature on God of War and compare it with native resolution and legacy DSR.
Below are the results:

Native 1080P - DLSS: Quality
1-Native-1080p-DLSS-Quality.png

DLDSR(2.25x) 1620P - DLSS: Quality
2-DLDSR-1620p-DLSS-Quality-Resized.png

DSR(4x) 4K - DLSS: Balanced
3-DSR-4-K-DLSS-Balanced-Resized.png

Notice the sharper details on the axe and less aliasing on the grass with the 4K DSR

DLDSR 1620P with DLSS: Quality gives me 90-100 FPS average
DSR 4K with DLSS: Balanced drops fps to 80-90 but I believe the image quality is worth it.

How the heck are you even getting 2880P !? Even the highest DSR settings for my 1080P monitor is 2160P.

DLDSR only offers 2 options, 1.75x or 2.25x. Are you sure about your TV resolution and are you looking at the right place? You only need Nvidia Control Panel and no other 3rd Party Application.

only got 5461 x 2880 & 6144 x 4240. TV is 4k native but am only using 1080p. tried CRU to remove resolution above 1080p but doesn't help.

fortunately got back NIS after changing scaling to GPU.

That's your issue. If your TV supports 4K Native then you shouldn't use DSR at all. Just set it to use 4k and use DLSS quality or balanced.
