Toshiba outdoor units r made in Japan, their fancoils r made in Thailand.
Most brands equipment are made in Thailand nowadays.

wanna check with ya...

I'm using Toshiba sys-4 inverter. Experience sweating (aka condensation) at one session of the pipes which is near to one of the fancoil.

Dunno if it matters, but this fancoil is the nearest to the compressor.

Pipes/trunkings to the other fancoils are okay though.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Is the airflow for that unit strong?
What temp and fan speed u set on the remote?
Maybe the fcu is slightly choked, causing condensation @ the piping/trunking.

arh... hee, realli the expert. all relevant qns. sorry i forgot to mention.

I usually keep it at spd 3, at times 5 (max) when i wanna cool down the room faster. I dun use auto-fan.

temperature is usually either 24 or 25.

I have a contracted service 4 times/year on the FCU. Sometimes i lazy and forgot to schedule date... but minimum is 3 times/year.

plus this was not the first time (my previous non-inverter unit also had this problem) for this room only. so when i change it to Toshiba inverter, i asked for more insulation (either 3/4" or 1"). I even had ARMAFLEX on the drainage pipes for this FCU. Within one month, condensation happened. only for this room.

weird huh? now i just buy a $2 small plastic bowl and placed it under where it drips water. Granted, it's only a small amt everynite... but during service, i can see the ARMAFLEX insulation pretty damp for this FCU.

Best according to u leh. Who r u? No1 knows u. If u wanna recommend mitsubishi, please state what r the reasons why u chose it.

Do u think can buy 4 tick Panasonic inverter system 2 from courts, harvey norman? Courts 10sets per day feb 18-19 $1835 + $40 delivery + $20 dismantle + $130 bracket. They using accoflex 3/8" not armaFlex 1/2". 1 trip installation. Harvey Norman feb 18-19 promotion Mitsubishi Electric $1888 What the different between accoflex and armaflex? Are they same?

anyone bought from 17 to 19 Feb 2012 Singapore Expo Hall 4B All Best Promotion? Is it all Panasonic inverter system 2 CU2S18KKZ / CSS9MKZ X 2 (9kbtu X 2) in Spore now using R410A, G23 or G24?

2 possible reasons.
Either the copper pipe is slightly dented. Causing gas flow to be not smooth.
Iceing happens after a few hours of usage. And leads to water leak.
Or your trunking is undersized, cause the insulation to be pressed against other piping inside the trunking.
How many sets of piping r inside the trunking?

To Tinyuan.
The Panasonic sys 2 price is attractive.
Arcoflex and Armaflex r different brands of Insulation.
1/2 is thicker then 3/8.
If your piping is inside trunking, 3/8 is enough.

Can ask not all aircon shop include trunking?
Courts price really attractive. They told me they using sub con. But I pay slightly more than $2025. Seal 2 door air vent $20. All best give Ntuc voucher, G24 instead of G23.

Is it all Panasonic inverter system using R410A?

The last time our family bought an aircon our relative helped with everything so we're rather noob. Hope to get some advise here as its been almost 6 years and the aircon is starting to give trouble.

Its noisy intermittently and when the serviceman came, he said the compressor is going to spoil and suggested that in future if any service costs more than $100, no point servicing and buy a new air con.

Am a bit wary of asking salesmen 'cos they surely will try to sell you the best so hope to get some advise here. I just need to aircondition one bedroom and one master bedroom so am looking at multi-split 2.

Definitely inverter type and I was told those using R410a are better as they cool faster and use less electricity. Is that true or is it just advertising hype? Also are R410a inverter ac much more expensive than R22 inverter type?

In terms of brand, Daikin and Mitsubishi come to mind. We're currently using Mitsubishi and its reputation is good with our family as we have used their washing machines and fridges before. As for Daikin, aircon is pretty much all they make, so can't go wrong right?

Am not sure about Hitachi, LG and other brands though. Are they any good?

In terms of cooling capacity, how many BTU is considered acceptable for a system 2 unit?

I saw someone bought Panasonic inverter system 1 at $850 + stainless steel bracket ard $120-150. How come system 1 & system 2 price so big different?

Saw giant sell midea inverter system 2 $1488.
