Not sure if it was a good deal, piping they provide is the best quality.

Aircon problem

Hi All,

I am seeking help from aircon experts here as I am out of ideas already. I am having problems with my aircon.

All 3 fancoils shut down together after 1-2 hours. Error light blinking. Switch it on again and it switches off again after 1-2 hours. Keeps repeating.

Is it the fuse or fan or motor or pcb?

Any suggestions from anyone? Any clues to the problem, please? Thanks!!!

Hi,

My Mitsubishi air con compressor is very noisy.(humming)
Air con is still quite cold.

When I on the aircon, after 30seconds, the compressor fan will start moving and the noise will kick in. (Can i presume this is the compressor fan motor?). When i on more units, the louder the noise it makes.

I had a serviceman that came that said it is compressor problem. Wish to get 2nd opinion.

Is this a compressor fan motor or capacitator problem, or a compressor itself problem. Please advise and an estimated cost to replace.

Indoor unit is (MSXY-GA10VA) and it is a system 4

Thanks in advance

This is an inverter unit, shouldn't have any capacitator.
Most likely compressor or fan motor.
To verify if its compressor, monitor the noise level between operating one unit and four units.
If its compressor, the noise should be louder when four units are on at the same time.

saw someone here recommend newway, got them to come down for a survey. Guy quoted me roughly 7-8k for mitsubishi heavy system 4 and a system 1

expensive leh

Have you ask other aircon vendors like Gain City to quote for the same mitsubishi heavy system 4 and a system 1 setup ?

I have used them for my aircon installation in Dec 2015, they are not that much more expensive than the rest of the quotes I received. Their worksmanship is on the better side as I have not encountered any problems with my aircon so far.

Actually even if only 1 unit is on, the noise level vary from time to time.

But if I on more units, confirm louder.

But I did stand by the window to see the outdoor compressor unit, the noise starts when the fan operates. However, I think the fan operates only when the compressor operates.

Does fan speed changes?

Thanks in advance!

Hello, it be could pcb problem, could also be the thermometer problem. Or there is an issue w the expansion valve. Just a few guesses. Might need to get someone to check.

Hello! Personally I wouldn't say LG is the best. Family friend who is an aircon technician was saying Mitsubishi is not bad. You can take a look !

Thank you so much for your reply. May I ask if you know how aircon specialist check the condenser? Is it just a visual check that can be done? I got aircon service and the guy open up the cover and look in and then said nothing is wrong. It looks compact inside, don't one have to hold up some parts and do technical check?

Nowadays, the fan speed will varies too as its an inverter unit.
Best to get a technician to assess it.

Hi, I've gotten 2 quotes of the same price from 2 companies but the materials they use vary slightly. Can anyone advise which would be a better choice?

1. Copper pipes SWG 21 + 1/2" Kemflex, combination of 13mm and 16mm PVC drainage pipes (no insulation)

2. Copper pipes SWG 22 + 1/2" Armaflex, 16mm PVC drainage pipes (with 1/4" insulation)

I just done my aircon works. here is something i can share with you:

the minimum standard of copper pipe is G23, normally upgrade to G22 is good enough I think. my husband said no point to use even more thicker copper pipe if the installer didn't do well. for my new house design, almost all trunking are hide inside cabinet and ceiling. so we decide to use G22 and 1/2" thickness Armaflex to minimize the future problems.

as my aircon contractor told me, there's different Class for Armaflex. and she show me the difference when they come down for site check.

if you decided go with 1/2" armaflex, just get Class 0 grade, and make sure the installers do the proper work. i saw some of my neighbour piping, works been short cut by installers, didn't give what they have promise at first.

have to check which light is blinking and how many times blink. there's a page of error code on your user manual. you can check out or you can get a technician to check on but mostly tell you PCB problem.

Hi rainbowdreamer, can share your aircon company contact?
