AMD desktop CPU good a not?

Whole life been using intel and considering AMD.

all except 2 of my personal desktop had been AMD since decades ago.
There are some generations where AMD processors are less performant than Intel but some generations, AMD are way more value for money than Intel and current Ryzen/Epyc is one of these generation. :o

if dont play games can consider m4 mac mini with education discount

AMD CPU no longer cheap compared to Intel.

ya very good PERFORMANCE and powerful than Intel now!!!

currently using Ryzen 7 9800 series!

Unless same specs intel got cheaper by $80-100 , if not no reason buy intel now

They have improved by a lot. But the drawback with the current ones is that idle power draw is still higher than intel's, due to chiplet design. For example, even the "highly inefficient" 14900k only draws 58w at idle/low loads while a 9950x draws 80w. But during loads, AMD is far more efficient.
