All legion 7 units are Legion Ultimate Support & so are mine. But I never believed in their "next biz day" program so that's fine.

So it's next business day pickup onsite and not troubleshoot / repair onsite...?

At least they pick up the laptop so that's good.
Interesting. For Thinkpads, I've had NBD onsite, so the laptop is fully repaired by the time the technician leaves, leaving downtime of less than 24h.

Picking up the laptop just brings it back to the depot, requiring a longer downtime that can run for as long as the centre needs. Some cannot afford that level of downtime. Think on it from a practical POV. For On-site, it's just your laptop that the service tech has to deal with. At the depot, there would be tens of laptops waiting to be serviced at any one time. No one laptop has priority over another, so it could be days before your laptop gets seen to. Then there's the scheduling of the return trip.

I'd rather they fix it on the spot so I can carry on using my laptop. That's why onsite service should be that - serviced onsite at the customer's location.

Woohoo I finally got my L5P delivered, literally moments ago!

Can any bros advise me on what are the steps you've taken to protect your laptop, from screen protectors, keyboard covers, to tinkering with the BIOS or battery charging limits?

I've never owned such an expensive piece before, and would like to make it last!

Thanks in advance! 😄

For laptops with no touch screen, I've never need to have a screen protector for it. My recommendation is to just use it normally.

Anyway, how much did you pay for it?

I agree that the site is cheaper, but are you ok with the wait which is currently expected to be around 12 weeks/ 3 months? If you are not in a rush, no harm getting online to save money. But if you need one, then I recommend just getting off the shelf. I was very tempted to get one immediately in a store, but decided that I will just wait for the Legion 7 instead since I don't have any pressing need for now.

anybody tried shipping laptops from taobao before? currently looking at the t14s gen1 with 4650u, 16gb 3200mhz ram, 512gb nvme which costs just under 1000 there. not worried about warranty since lenovo sg site with similar config is about 60% more expensive, so well worth the tradeoff imo.

Hi anyone knows the difference between the Legion 5 pro 82Q000NSB on shopee and the 82JQ0070SB on the official website?

The 82Q000NSB can be upgraded to 32 GB ram and its equivalent to the 82JQ0070SB model. However, the model on the official website takes around 2 months to deliver, then on shopee I asked the salesperson they say instock and can deliver in 1 week..

all for Legion so high end? what about IdeaPad, Thinkbook and ThinkPad?

Sent from EDMWER app!
Legion laptops are mostly for gaming and if you need a fast system for specialised work. IdeaPad, Thinkpad, and Thinkbook are generally targeting students/ work that needs a slimmer/lighter laptop for less intensive work, and with a focus on battery life. The form factor itself generally don't allow for very high end CPU/ GPU config because the cooling solution cannot handle too much heat. So it really depends on what you want to use the laptop for.

actually.... the new aesthetics of the Legion 5 and Legion 7 makes it very suitable for Corporate office as well.... Just need to switch off the crazy RGB lolx

Thinkpad is generally targetting Business people and corporate.
Ideapad more for general college students. A balance between, school, play and media consumption
Thinkbook..... is the alien XD
