Just caution and a gentle reminder after getting quote( get quote first before you decide to opt for the contractor 1 shot for meeting at your new hse of what you want first) but after site survey and assessment the quote will get higher plus current inflation raw materials, over head and gst....sigh.
Next year GST hike will be even more worse. Most important get the schedule and ask how many days of buffer ( such as when is the earliest completion date and latest completion date)

just give some guide line for you if you can ample time for preparation
1. request quote get more quote (filter out the contractor you want to meet)
(provided with video and floor plan)
2. meet up for discussion (do write down a meeting minutes)
3. site survey and assessment (quote might be revised) do request for schedule , buffer such as
the earliest and latest completion date )
4. office meet up for selection of material and finalize
5. site check at your new home according to the schedule

me too, I'm at this process of looking for contractors. Pfff ... stressful process for such a happy event as a home-owner , especially nowadays with so many bad publicity on reno companies

Anyway, @mryang , or any other kind soul, if you are happy with your contractor, can PM me too? Thanks.

Been contact with a few renov company. Keep asking me what design I prefer. I say I no need designer.
Mainly:
1. Painting and plastering
2. Electricity rewiring
3. plumbing work for sink area & baths
4. Aircon and water heater .
5. Change of doors and metal gate
6. Kitchen cabinets refurbished
i always see people reno always got item 2 and 3 included.
i dun understand.
why are these needed? my view, all e electric wire + piping for sink/bath were all done hidden and workin.
u mean these 2 items basically hack the wall to replace all e wiring/ pipes underneath??!! confused.
