for this kind of slimline washer, other than thomson and candy, there is also brandt.
i got the candy 8 kg 1200 rpm myself. it was a display model and i got it for a song.
the noise generated by the washer is really noisy. it feels like an aircraft is gonna take off in my kitchen, but i have since gotten used to it. there's little vibration if your machine is adjusted properly.
the only problem i had encountered was that the lock refused to release, making the lid unable to be opened. technician came down and explained that it was a common problem for this model, and the problem did not turn up when he was around. he told us to call him again if the problem pops up often and he will come down to change the mechanism.
anyway, the machine has a auto release for the lock. when the knob is turned to off, it will unlock automatically in less than a min.
however, sometimes when i want to throw in additional clothing in the middle of it's operation, i might not be able to do so, because of the lid.
overall, i am very satisfied with the washer, as horizontal axis drum washer washes the clothes much cleaner. and with a top lid, i can pour my soaked clothes into drum easily.
the 8kg candy model rated for 3 tick on water efficiency and if i remember correctly, thomsons' ones are only 2 tick.
I been using Thomson slim line washing machine for 10 years. It getting noisy recently. Was looking at candy slim line washing machine from courts as well. Wondering how is the quality (any problem, noisy and vibrate. Can anyone quote?
