Might as well just stay around the area. Can head to Mt. Omuro and walk around the crater. It’s just next to the zoo. I went there as a day trip from Imaihama-kaigan during the Kawazu-zakura festival. There’s the Teddy Bear Museum (a lot of slopes to walk to the museum). Also did the Jogasaki coast trek. Waterfalls are closer to Kawazu. It’ll be cold. You’ll need to take a bus and walk.

I’m not too sure about cars. Was a solo trip, I only took local buses and trains. Didn’t manage to visit the waterfalls because there was crazy winds and rain showers on the day before and the day when I reached Kawazu. Not a fan of trekking on mushy places, moreover I was still having physiotherapy sessions back then for my left knee after ACL op.

There is this sushi place in between jr nara and kintetsu nara station, with tasty kani (crab) sushi. Used to run by an old couple, but today went apparently got passed down to youngsters. Kani sushi is still clean and sweet, but other sushis standard drop.

Sushi Ichi. Again due to its location, not a lot of foreigners will go in which I like.
