But I heard noboribetsu has the most number of onsens around, easier to get access and more choices right?

Normally they have lunch package together with the onsen one hor?

I usually don't go for lunch package with onsens. Normally it is not advisable to go soak into an onsen after eating a heavy meal. I am not sure about you but I would feel too full to enjoy the hot water.

And while we always talk about the onsen water quality, the most enjoyable thing about going to the onsen bath to me is not the water, but the design and atmosphere of the bath. There are usually a lot of onsen baths in many onsen towns but if you really want to enjoy the experience, you will need to be selective. After all, a hole in the ground and 4 walls is also an onsen bath. That's why I have been recommending the Daiichi Takimotokan for the onsen in Noboribetsu. There are sure many onsen baths in Noboribetsu, but if you want the definitive experience that many people associate with Noboribetsu, then you must go to Daiichi Takimotokan.

In Noboribetsu, there is one Ryokan
Takinoya
????? ???

One of the best i been to, I would say among the whole of Japan.

The room, onsen and meal. Top class

Any nice waterfall to see around osaka, kyoto,,nagoya, tokyo area?
and bungee jumping :s34:

so far i found minoo park at osaka

and, if i buy JR pass
i must buy another pass for Kintetsu line all these?
wanna go Akame-shujuhachi-taki
Get back to nature in Japan - Lonely Planet

JR pass cannot be used for Kintetsu line.
just buy normal tickets when u are taking Kintetsu line. u probably dun need another pass coz the fare to and from Akameguchi is relatively cheap and will not be worth getting the pass

When you are there. you can monitor the surrounding regions for snow. But Tokyo is so near Tohoku and Chubu where snow is aplenty there, so its not hard to go see snow at the surrounding regions.

anywhere facing Sea of Japan will have high chance to see snow.

Snow country (Japan) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

kanto Area pass has this option pass for Gala Yuzawa
GALA Option Ticket | Fares & Passes | JR-EAST

Or this for your snow chase through Tohoku:
JR East Pass
This pass has an advantage over the regular JR pass as its validity is non continuous. It's a 5 days of use within 14 days period. It is good for those that make stops and stay at a location, then frequent travelling. Its disadvantage is the coverage are is limited to Tohoku only and if you are making very frequent rides more than 5 days.

anyone purchased lonely planet? is it worthwhile?

lonely planet may be useful for some countries but not so much for japan coz japan-guide website and this forum provide much more information.

I only find Lonely Planet's Hiking in Japan useful, but even that can be borrow from the library. dun need to buy.

May I know what is the cheapest fare your manage to get for last year (2014) to Tokyo? Not budget airline but the normal carrier. Because wondering should I wait for promo fare by ANA or JAL or SQ before booking my flight for June'15 holidays. I have like 6 adults and 2 children.
