And, i plan to propose to my GF in Kyoto, which "area" would be best in terms of romantic and full bloom of cherry blossom?

Thanks.

I suppose you need quieter place, can consider going kiyomizudera temple love stone and the cherry blossom early in the morning.

Other prefectures, can consider,

Kumagaya Sakura Zutsumi
Saitama Prefecture

Tokyo
World Trade Center's observatory, watch sunset and night view, quite quiet place.

Or you wanna do it in Tokyo mid-air. :o

Hi,

I'm looking to travel to Osaka > Kyoto > Tokyo from 1 April to 12 April 2016.

Which airline would you recommend? SQ timing not very good.. My budget is around $700 per pax. SQ has 2 to go promotion.. but the timing is horrible although the promo met my budget.

How about United Airline? Anyone tried Scoot to Tokyo before? They have decent timing and it's cheap.

cherry blossoms spots around kyoto

what he meant is that u can only determine which pass is best based on the places u are going.
if u are just visiting the places within Tokyo city, u dun really need any passes. just get a store-value card, such as SUICA, to get ard.

How much will tat normally cost as compared to jr pass

SUICA is a store-value card. iirc, it cost 2000yen and comes with 1500yen value and 500yen deposit. deposit refundable, but u can always keep the card for next trip.
trips within the city on the JR line is around 140 - 200yen. the cost of the 7-day JR pass is 29110yen. it is only worth it to get the pass if u are travelling out of the city on long trips using shinkansen or limited express trains

Shibuya, akihabara, shinjuku

Pokemon center is where ar

If i know which pass is best i wouldnt have asked here

If you're only visiting Tokyo, the most convenient Pokemon center is @ Sunshine city in Ikebukuro, there are also 2 smaller stores in Tokyo station and Narita airport.
If you have time for side trips, there's also Pokémon centers @ Minato Mirai in Yokohama and @ Lalaport in Chiba

If I understand this correctly

Online reservation for this train ticket only allows for a maximum of 3 tickets at once.

If you need to order four or more tickets, please order in multiples of three or less tickets (note: this is the closest I think I understand)

So for example, if you need to order 5 tickets, please order 3+2 tickets in two separate transactions

I need some help. Here is my brief itinerary to Kansai area in Mid Dec.

Day 1: Kansai -> Kyoto - Haruka ticket
Day 2: Kyoto
Day 3: Kyoto -> Biwako valley ski
Day 4: Kyoto to Osaka
Day 5: Osaka to Nara
Day 6: Osaka to Himeji - Kobe
Day 7: home

No USJ as my kids are not fan of HP & too expensive with the express tickets! :o

Which travel pass is/are best for my itineraries?

http://www.osaka-info.jp/en/plan/practical_information/travel_passes/
Any nice eating places in Kyoto & Osaka?

Thanks!

Tks for the reply. I will get both passes esp. the 1 day pass to Himeji - much cheaper than normal fare. :)

Would like to ask a question regarding transportation to my very 1st accommodation in Japan.

Arrival- Narita T1 on 01-Dec-14, 08:45
To go: Jusohonmachi,Yodogawa-ku,Umeda

Used Hyperdia and got this as results

Should I select any of the route there? Or should I use Nex Tokyo round trip tic as recommended by 1 of my friend?

And what other important train/bus tickets should I buy at the beginning of my japan trip so I won't have to backtrack and purchase again? e.g full day bus pass for place XXX etc.. My general itinerary is 7days in Osaka/Kyoto and 7 days in Tokyo. I know a must-buy is the pasmo.

Thanks for the help guys :) Transportation is a bit challenging in Japan :s22:

going straight to Osaka on arrival? yes get on the shinkansen. I think you should get the 7 days JR Pass if your return trip back to Tokyo is within 7 days, otherwise you should just get the normal ticket. if you don't mind taking the slower shinkansen, you can use the Purrato Kodama ticket option to save some money. this is if you cannot use the 7 days JR Pass...

yes and get the NEX round trip ticket.

Hello,

thanks for opening this thread, I have a question about Li-ion battery in -0 environment.

I read that, batteries, such as iphone, DSLR, etc. dies very quickly in -0 environment.
How does Japanese work around it during those season?

I was hoping to bring my DSLR to Hokkaido in this Dec, but was worry if it even last a few hours.

Thanks for your time!
