Hi
Have been using Asus Zenwifi CT8 AiMesh for past few months. Realise that have many incidences of network issues. Not sure why but below are observed. The main node is at living room, the end node is at study room. FW has also been updated latest 3.0.0.4.386_22245-g1b51b7c.
Home Singtel network is just 500MBPs though.

1.Today 8-Oct : The main router suddenly turns RED and lost connection while I am having "zoom" conference. Simple re-boot solve the issue.
2. Having frequent lost connection with Zoom conference, many occasions.
3. Son playing online game in study room using 2nd node. Overtime 2nd node somehow slows down till a point I need to bring the 2nd node to living room to re-established to main node. After re-establishing the study room wifi signal is strong again. Some occasions.

Thought the CT8 is latest technology offering better stability. Apparently not. Don't know how to troubleshoot this. If anyone having stability issues with CT8 can share your experience and insight.

Have you updated the firmware yet?

Are you on wifi or lan backhual?

Check if both nodes are on the same firmware version.

If on wireless backhaul, 2nd node need to be within 1st node WiFi range.

use wifi scanning app. ideally signal shouldnt overlap. but if placed closed together your computer might be switching wifi causing dc.

you can disablr roaming and see if it resolves, or decrease wifi power so it will not switch to the further signal

Had the same issue once a day the router indicator will turn red and wifi entirely disappears, a reboot would then solve it. However it comes back again. I managed to get rid of it by doing the below:

Download latest firmware and reflash the router
after which reset factory default using hardware button and setup again.

I have no idea why but auto update by asus seems to mess up some settings resulting in it

Thanks everyone.
Have done factory reset. Wah, have to reset up everything, took me 2 hours. Realise need to disconnect (unlink) my Asus app with the old Aimesh setup, otherwise cannot detect the 2nd node, only can see 1st node. Took me a while to figure out.
Let's see what happens over the weekend and next week when I start working .....

Hi folks, I am having the same problem as isurfer8888 with the CT8. Currently on latest firmware and using wireless backhaul. The LED indicators on the router and node are light green (instead of white previously), indicating weak connection between both even though they are about 7m apart and unobstructed. I have done hard reset for both but still encountering disconnection from devices time to time. Any idea on what needs to be done?
BamBam and Forumite, did you solve your issues?
Thanks in advance for your help!

guys, just curious if the IP address can be changed to 192.168.1.x instead of 192.168.50.x as per the default?

Main router seems to work but node unable to connect anymore. Even after reset node, it's blinking blue then switches to blinking green then back to blinking blue and so on and so forth...

Yes, you can change the ip addresses. But I dont think your issue is related to ip address. Is your node in the line of sight with the router?

Check if the individual nodes are on the safe firmware version.

Check if the nodes are within optimal range of each other ( because wireless backhaul is using 5ghz )
