Me save many years for this year end trip.
End Sept definitely cannot, minimum is next year. Mine is this year end but thus far SQ doesnt allow me to postpone or cancel for free.
Hi, seeking advice. I read in one article, for south island it's not recommended to drive more than 250KM a day.
I'm going in NZ summertime so should I plan my driving between cities/town and route within 250KM?
Hopefully, your's can go on smoothly, but i think it won't be the same again after the pandemic.
Isn't summer gonna be more expensive?
This year confirm cannot liao.
Summer more expensive but is our preference due to our daughter young age. We paid 1.5k per person on SQ air ticket (Christmas period + multi city).
Thus far SQ haven't response how long we can postpone our travel date. We already save many years for this trip, so okay another year of excuse for me to save and buy Sony a7iii (maybe in time for a7iv), haha
Mine still have to wait and see. our air ticket credit hold for a year. By right today, i should be at Queenstown, New Zealand, doing skydiving.
i did south island 3 timesdid you go south or north? Did you drive in the snow?
i did south island 3 times
and north island once
all different trips
there will only be ice/snow in the mountains, so if u dun drive up the ski resorts, no problem.
milford sound will always be wet, but jus be more careful after the tunnel...
for 1 of the 3 south island, we had campervan for the initial 1/3 of the trip, the rest were car... for the other 2, 100% car...Nice, I'm heading to south island (this month) - postponed due to the pandemic, I should be at Milford sound now. You drive campervan? Can I also have your itinerary for south island? Thank you

my itinerary not very useful for the normal traveller cuz it's very high level and i do various hikes/treks... we didn't do a few of the hikes/treks we planned since it was free & easy and we book accoms along the way and not in advance so it's was quite flexible... i'll jus share my last trip's...

ya, most of the cruises will go to the falls, go near the rocks where seals chill, sometimes can see dolphins following ur boat (i got that last trip so lucky!)Thanks man. How's the Milford sound cruise? Does the cruise go close to the waterfall?- I saw in one of the travel videos.
According to guides, u haven't seen milford sound until you have seen it in the rain or after raining. Coz that is when u will see hundreds of mini waterfalls all over.ya, most of the cruises will go to the falls, go near the rocks where seals chill, sometimes can see dolphins following ur boat (i got that last trip so lucky!)
milford sound is beautiful regardless cloudy/misty or clear day, so dun be too sian if you go there and it's abit cloudy/rainy, as long as it's not thunderstorm that kind it'll be ok...
