If I book accommodations on the booking.com platform, and I need to pay in advance but have foc cancellation. Do we pay in sgd or Thai baht? When we cancel, amount would not be exactly what we have paid right?

Booking in SGD save the FX as their rate may not be good.
Every where I go, booking I always pay in SGD unless pay when you reach hotel.
Currently Agoda got the best price for most of the hotel, compare first before you book.

Hi everybody. I'll be heading to Khlong Ton Sai in Khlong San for two weeks. I've read through several threads and thousands of posts on this forum. I've also gone on other websites but the information is limited. I really need the advice from the experts here for my unanswered questions.

1) Which airport is better to land at? In terms of clearing immigration, less hassle? BKK or DMK Airport?

2) Would you recommend me to take a grab or the train from the airport to the hotel in Khlong Ton Sai?

3) Should I go for the bundle deals (airport + hotel) or book them separately? Should I just go with Air Asia?

thanks all.

1)DmK will be better for now in term of immigration clearance.

2)Just take taxi or grab you decide to save you the hassle to carry luggage travel around.

3)you can compare first ba depends is more worth it to do bundle or book seperate

@ApeTruelove

I've managed to choose a package with hotel and flight. Problem is the reviews on facebook and a few websites is that Air Asia so terrible. I cannot afford to risk any flight delays or cancellations because I need to be in Khlong San on the 18th. Any other airline I can rely on instead of Air Asia?

The one have issue is Malaysia AirAsia.. Thai AirAsia no problem... Instead Thai AirAsia flight usually on time or come earlier.. Same for lionair

Your timely response is much appreciated. For bundle bookings such as hotel + airline on agoda, how do I pay for carry on baggage etc? I don't see an option to do that on the Agoda website.

Btw I came across something.

@ApeTruelove I am trying to make payment on Agoda for the Flight+Hotel bundle via paypal but they only offer the credit/debit card option. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Update
I jgot off the line with Agoda customer service +442030277900 at 4am. Found their number by fluke while trawling some other forum. Long story short is that pay now is safer than pay later option. If you read elsewhere you will see a number of people whose card was charged twice. Once when they are in person at the hotel and a second time when they've usually left the country. Once the double charge has been discovered, they then have to contact the hotel, Agoda and their banks to recfify the problem. Of course you also have equal or majority of people who did not face this problem when they chose the pay later option. I rather be on the safe side.

Another thing regarding payments, paypal is only available for flights or hotel bookings by its own. It is not offered as a payment mode for flight + hotel bundle on Agoda. As for purchasing additional baggage for your flight after purchasing the flight+hotel bundle on agoda, you can only do so after you've made payment on the website. You then have to go to the airline website and use the airline reference number to locate your booking and then do the purchase of additional baggage. Hope this helps others who may have similar doubts like me.

I've booked the hotel, flight and paid for travel insurance. Do I need to apply for a Thai visa? Am I missing out anything else? thanks.

But you need to know if you have any issue with your flight or hotel you will need to settle with the platform instead of direct deal with airline or hotel.

No need to apply for visa if you stay only two weeks.

If you plan to take BTS or MRT, try to avoid peak hour to purchase the coin or top up. Asoke peak hour worst then Siam
Just have lots of coin on standby for taking BTS... because dollar machine to purchase ticket only 1 in each station but coin machine got many.

@ApeTruelove Hi. My airline booking for the return leg has been confirmed on the Thai AirAsia website. Do I need to choose a seat or do I just ignore this option and just purchase the additional baggage and let them auto assign me a seat?

If you fine with any seat then no need to buy seat. Just buy the baggage.

@ApeTruelove hi. coming to a week and I still cannot retrive my booking flight from Singapore to DMK on the airasia website. I managed to retrieve the return flight, had to change the contact details because it was some other name and some other qq.com email. I downloaded the app and I am able to only view it on 'retrive booking'. I don't want to proceed to purchase the add ons because the contact person belongs to some other name and the email (some qq.com email) as well. The fields are greyed out and I cannot change the names.

On the airasia superapp, i cannot edit the wrong contact name and email (through no fault of my own) because the fields are greyed out. The app prompts me to verify my account. I clicked on the 'Send OTP option' to do the verification but then the app prompts 'This method is now allowed'. I uninstalled and re-installed the app thrice cos the app said to either update app or phone but still no luck.

I found this email address but no reply from them too.
flybeyondhelp@airasia.com

I've tried messaging Thai Air Asia on fb, twitter and the app but its the AVA bot and no real person to assist me. I've called all of Air Asia's office numbers worldwide but most of them are voicemail services and its said that they will return my call a day later but till now nothing. I've spent many days on other forums and fb but unable to find a solution. What do I do? thanks.

@ApeTruelove Got off the with phone with Agoda. They told me to check with Thai AirAsia because they're unable to edit my contact name and email address under my return flight booking. The person who booked my ticket is one of the partner companies of Agoda and he inputed his name and email (ending with qq.com) as the contact details.

The AirAsia website has been down for 3 days now for the retrive booking (intermittent access), check-in and flight status section. When I access via the AirAsia super app, the contact name and email fields are greyed and I cannot edit it to input my name and email. Agoda CS told me that I can purchase the additional baggage, choose food etc when I check-in on the day of my flight but I asked her if the prices would be higher as compared to doing it online cos I saw that they have massive savings if I do it online instead. She couldn't give me a definitive answer. She said that Jetstar allows you to pay for additional baggage when you check-in at the airport and its cheaper. But I'm on AirAsia and I told her so and also mentioned that the AirAsia website clearly stated that there are massive discounts for buying additional baggage now as compared to later.

She also said that Agoda can't make the changes for me online cos AirAsia has restricted what they can and can't do for us passengers and cited security issues. I asked her if it would be a security issue if for example the website and or the AirAsia app suddenly is able to work and I still cannot edit the wrong contact name and email address and I then go ahead to pay for additional baggage, choose my food etc. She couldn't answer me confidently and replied that I should contact AirAsia's bot called Ava.

What do I do?

Sorry I thought you mean your name is wrong for your flight and you need to change it. As long your name is correct can le and you have your PNR. The contact details no need to worry because like you join tour, they purchase the flight for you, the contact will be their details not yours. you can just buy your additional baggage now because if you purchase in the airport will be very expensive.
