Was queuing up like sheep in the long line of queue at bkk airport.
Then I saw the automated gate on the right (for hk and SG passports) and straight jump queue and went for the automated gate.
The guy manning it still direct me to select the correct option.
Clear the queue fast like the other Thai cizitens.

What's misleading is that the automated lane is stated as Thai cizitens lane at the start of the queue.

Yes, this has been repeated multiple times in the BKK sub-forum.
The staffs will direct to manual so:

1. Show passport and get directed in OR
2. Join the manual queue and later move over to the e-gates queue once able to if you face staffs that blatantly just ignores the fact that e-gate is usable for Singaporeans.

Thailand airports to allow baggage inspections without passengers

The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) will introduce new rules allowing security officers to open checked baggage without passengers present if X-ray screening detects potentially dangerous items. The regulations take effect on October 16.

The new rules apply to checked baggage and are intended to strengthen airport security in line with international standards.

Under the regulations, security officers may inspect checked luggage if X-ray images reveal prohibited items, suspicious objects or anything that could pose a risk to aviation security.

Passengers will not need to be present while their bags are opened.

CAAT said the entire inspection process will be recorded. Once the search is complete, officers will place a Notice of Baggage Inspection inside the luggage to inform passengers that it was opened for inspection.

Officers may confiscate prohibited or dangerous items found during an inspection, and such items will not be returned.

Passengers are advised to check their luggage before travelling and avoid packing prohibited items in checked baggage to help prevent delays during screening.

The new baggage inspection rules follow another recent CAAT safety measure. Earlier in June, CAAT issued new rules governing the carriage of power banks on aircraft, introducing stricter safety requirements to reduce risks associated with lithium batteries.

The new regulation sets out conditions for passengers travelling with spare lithium batteries and power banks. Under the rules, power banks may only be carried in cabin baggage and are prohibited in checked luggage.

Passengers are also prohibited from charging power banks from onboard power sources or using them to charge phones and other electronic devices during a flight.

Update on Suvarnabhumi immigration situation:

Date of arrival: 19 July
Flight arrived at gate around 9:55am
I was on ARL train at 10:30am (i was lucky as the train doors opened right when i reach the platform)

i walked fast and reached the immigration common queue with only about 6 persons in front of me

Sibei convenient to use Trust card for MRT, hopefully they implement for BTS too.

How come so many Thais queuing to buy tokens? Thought they have Rabbit card or something equivalent for MRT?

Cause both BTS and MRT are different companies.
Hence the rabbit card can only be used for BTS.

On a side note, the airport link has started test trial for credit card usage.

MRT don't allow foreign debit card. Only debit card issued in TH can use it to tap the gantry. Paywave also cannot use.

So MRT must use physical credit card for tourist.

Airport Rail link can use debit card/credit card. But must tap physical card.

I just use the physical cards like trust and youtrip to tap for both the MRT and airport link.

BTS just queue up and buy tickets with cash.

Me in BKK now, I just tried tapping youtrip card for MRT at Chinatown didn't work. I went to the station, the staff tell me only Thai debit card can work. I was puzzled cause I entered via Sukhumvit (it was showing a x sign on the gantry screen) but barrier open. When I exit at Chinatown, no error. But later when I go into Youtrip app to see, don't see any transaction at all for my earlier MRT ride.

Just tap with another credit card then to try.

For youtrip, on entry, my app will show 1Bt charge. The actual charges will appear next day. And yes, often will show error, but gantry open. But definitely international Youtrip, Wise etc works.
