2. we can take their mrt from airport to town directly?

Is Citin Pratunama good choice? Intended to book 2x triple rooms for a group of 6.

First time to Bangkok, just shopping and some sightseeing.

Dear all,

Please help. Few questions.

Does the airport train allow big bag and luggage to go in? Or are they like singapore got limit?

Where to buy the airport train ticket?

The departure and arrival hall seems to be different, If last day take train to airport, where is the departure hall?

I intend to stay near partpong, so i will be taking skytrain from surawong to praya thai then switch to airport train. May i know is the station visible?

Anybody can answer pls

The hotels in pratunam seems to be a big favorite of singaporeans who go there for shopping.

Citin is ideal for that price. Also consider best western mayfair and budacco for hotels around the areas, in the same price range.

no limit but i don think u shld bring along a bathtub.
there r 2 types of airport rail train - city & express. d city line uses train likes our mrt train. d express line, which is more ex, has plush seats & there r overhead racks 4 u 2 place luggage.

train pics of SA Express. (not my pics)

@ d airport train station loh.
basement.

The departure and arrival hall seems to be different, If last day take train to airport, where is the departure hall?
it meant 2 b different. i'm glad u realized dat. so u won check-in @ d wrong counter.
seriously, it's an international airport. english signage r aplenty.

I intend to stay near partpong, so i will be taking skytrain from surawong to praya thai then switch to airport train. May i know is the station visible?
d nearest BTS station 2 Surawongse is Saladang BTS station. surowongse (btw is a sleazy but 'colorful' area) runs parallel wif Silom rd where d skytrain station is. it depends where u stand along Suriwong, at some locations u can actually c d train station across.

note: i know u r confused. surawong, surawongse, surowong & suriwong r all d same 2 Thai ppl. :D

does the bkk airport sell the data sim??

Go to AIS. They have it either in micro-sim or normal sim sizes. 99Baht. Airport, 1st floor on left, to the very end. Tried True but they do not have micro-sims.

Used the micro-sim for my iPad whilst travelling to my wife's hometown in the northeast and in BKK. No issues at all, just a bit slow as Thailand still doesn't have true 3G services.

Cheers.

Oh i'm sorry. The shop name is DTAC. Actually, all 3 telecom companies, AIS, DTAC & True have shops on the 1st floor of the airport. But I chose DTAC because it was closest to me, the shop personnel speaks good English and they offer the SIM card in both micro-sim and normal sim card formats, there is no need for any cutting services. The shop personnel will also help you insert the sim card and test it out in front of you.

I bought the micro-sim for 99baht and topped up another 500baht. Used the iPad everyday for 2wks in my wife's hometown in the northeast province and in BKK and there was no issues at all. Remember, there is no 3G so Internet can be a bit slow.

Now, I have a BKK micro-sim card sitting at home till my next BKK trip! :s22:

My wife is from Khon Kaen.

Just came back from a 2wk trip there, staying at our house and celebrating Xmas & New Year there. Drove around the area visting friends in Korat, Udon Thani, Nong Khai and Khao Yai.

Was a blast! :)
