POs are a long established online scam and started well b4 carousell came to be! in the days gone by got one case in the PO/marketplace HWZ subforum the mastermind of the scam tio arrested and squat a few years IIRC...

Not from a 3rd party in carousell who tries to bring in Apple or Samsung.

Whatever you deal in carousell, it is best to deal in COD. There are many scams in there.

Or make use of the caroupay. I have not tried this though.

A few thousand, around 4k. Only about 18gpus total. I can't remember as it has been awhile and I only estimate the mining profits, too lazy to count exact lol. Most GPUs flipped as it got too hot to have more than 1 rig in room lol.

6 is ordered from madcow. They are still alive on shopee btw.

By the time they deliver your 3080 gpu now, can flip for 1k profit easy lol. They won't be fast lol.

Nope. Nothing wrong with taking risks.
It could have gone the other way.

It worked for me. I pre-ordered 12 in carou and 6 from madcow, knowing the risks. If the fellow don't deliver, he would be in jail anyways. I paid 50% deposit.


Anyways if he is ok risking 2.3k like that, chances are it is not that big an amount to him. As he said, won't die from it.

It seems these days more people willing to go to jail to try these scams. In 2017, it wasn't like that. That's a kamikaze move btw.

Morale of the story, buy from shop.
Yes some shop can take pre-order so you can check.
Caurosell seller even though they may look reputable but
many cases either the seller MIA, sell overpriced PC with used/second hand parts.

Worst some of these seller do not issue receipt, by right if you pre-order
a item they should issue a invoice.
Cuz without invoice is very hard to dispute, you can use bank transfer
but later the other party say never receive.

All GPUs for the last couple of months require pre-order.

There are sellers that deliver and by the time they get the GPU, can flip for 1k higher at least lol

Those same sellers still taking pre-order now ...but at higher prices as prices have gone up.

Not possible Global shortage, scalpers as well as miners.
When prices will go back, it's unknown.
Take note even second hand GPU, people are taking advantage to sell
GPU from $100 even for old cards.
