i explain the trade off of insisti.g in bigger units.my theory apply to all locations n types.
u must think the pro n con of
putting your only bullet in any type.

FYI.
even u r in reserve q no.,u still hv a hope.
cos some pple ahead in q sure quit.
eg 3 room in TP APEX, abt 20% in the first 138 q nos. quit.
can any one share other withdrawl ratio?

does hdb have a selection criteria on queue sequence?
perhaps based on number of occupant on your application or income level?

Resale VS Kallang BTO

For the Kallang Whampoa Launch.
The 4 Bed Room options cost approximately 600k,depending on your floor.
For my income, i am not getting any grants.

As compared to buying a resale 4 room flat nearby. I can get a 70k grant (proximity included). Furthermore, the resale prices are also around the 500k to 600k range, with some even lower than that.


My question for discussion is: Is it still worth it to apply for the BTO? I am questioning the status quo that applying for this Kallang whompoa will allow you to new sizable gains after staying for the 5 year MOP.

Good point. I guess the only advantage of getting the bto over the resale will be

1.longer lease which usually able to get a higher price
2.newer flat

other than that, I don't think you able to get a as much material appreciation as compared to non mature estate

resale or bto,depend on when u need the flat.
2.rental paid or stay with parents.in laws may cause problem.

resale,u can recee the surrounding n neighbours,actual situation。etc
jus do a table n compare...

TOA PAYOH APEX in 2014,4 room draws 9.1 applying for one unit.
i.guess this round will be at least 8.

so.guys sit down n draw your war plan.

this resale is DBSS.i hv not visited,not aware any.differdence fr HDB BTO.
The peak at toa payoh,dbss,come with first floor lobby access card control. no security guard.
