1) define good. cos helping an convict escapee by pointing the police in the wrong direction is also considered doing good to the convict.

2) never make the majority mistake that "volunteering = good karma". its the same as a serial killer pulls a jack the ripper from mondays to saturdays and goes to church to confess on sundays and sabbatical on sunday cos "god rested on the 7th day".

haha. that's not my job bro
thats for you to find out right?

I follow Buddha's definition of wholesome (good) because He is an enlightened being. He knows better.

Buddha may had laid the path of wholesome actions, wholesome deeds, wholesome thoughts for mortals to leave Samsara. But the thing is, in countless incarnation cycles, even as your past bad karma ripened and you were born in Hell, would one walk that same wholesome path with determination during that indeterminate lifespan? :s11:

this is all but 1 life in many.

Being a volunter does not mean you can suka suka

Work needs planning. Manpower is one issue.

If people suka suka come and go then how to plan?

you want suka suka come, then just show up and help out randomly lo... as an extra pair of hands. The incharge will no plan anything for you, you just make the workload of the existing volunteers lighter, by providing an extra pair of hands.. maybe to pack, or clean or clear up.

Practice according to the Buddha's teachings in life so that the conditions will not be right for the negative karma to be ripened. Can also lighten the heavy karma. All the Pusas ( eg Guan Yin Pusa) are to assist the practitioners to cross the ocean of life and death smoothly, liberate from rebirth in samsara in one lifetime for Pure Landers.

then the jack the ripper going to church to confess kinda assumes that jack the ripper's gonna go heaven?

修行 is never about the action. its about the thoughts.
Confession does not meant immediate redemption. Like 放下屠刀立地成佛。It doesnt work this way. Serve the karma 1st then we talk. Those can really resist the urge to kill, lust, steal, lie etc previous life already started 修行。whether they can 顿悟,its up to them. Actions is translated from thoughts. Blindly following practices w/o understanding is not 修行。Similarly thinking w/o actions is not either.

I'm not leaving my number cause I only help when I'm free. Who say I want to volunteer.
