Hi

I'm trying to connect my tablet (the old Samsung Note 10.1) to my bigger LG TV.

I usually stream shows from China sites such as LeTV, Funshion.. etc on my tablet. Can I know if Chromecast works with such sites? Have been searching online but can't find a definite answer..

I think there are also some imitation China 'Chromecast' that promises to stream from such sites. . such as 'Anycast', etc.? Is this advisable?

I saw a lot of people disposing of their Chromecast here though.

Any advice appreciated. thank you in advance.

Are you talking about screen mirroring? In that case, you have to check whether you tablet support it with your TV.

I bought those china made "chromecast" which simply mirrors what you see on your tablet onto the TV. It gets the job done. I don't own a chromecast so cant help you there.

Latest Chromecast app support screen mirroring. Get it if price is $35

Alternatively buy ezcast from shopee app $11 before discounts

Both gets job done

If ur Samsung note support mhl, just buy $7 mhl to HDMI cable

Shopee got their EzCast chromecast clone that seemed to work better than the original Google innovation lol...

hi

hi!

Thanks for all your advice.. My tablet does not support MHL too bad. It's the first generation Samsung Tablet Note 10.1.

Thanks for the recommendation on Ezycast.. How do I check whether my tablet is compatible with EzyCast? is EzyCast easy to set up? lol

Sorry noob .. basically my objective is just want to watch these dramas from China websites on my bigger LCD TV .. and not have to watch on small tablet... not sure whether this is called 'screen mirroring'..

Shouldn't be an issue - just try downloading the Chromecast app.

If you can install it, that means it's compatible.

It uses Wi-Fi to establish the connectivity and the rest is handled by the app and the dongle plugged to the TV.

You can refer to our early review for a good idea:-

Actually, it does. You need the Samsung 30-pin MHL adapter for tablets. It's discontinued so may be hard to find.

Anyway sorry TS but will OT from your thread as I just got my Chromecast last week so I like to give my humble opinions.

I got my Chromecast primarily for ONLY watching Youtube and for mirroring my smartphone on my 2nd PC monitor Dell U2410.

After setting up and updating the Chromecast and installing the Chromecast app, everything went well.

However my old Samsung Galaxy Note couldn't screen mirror to the monitor even when my phone has the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. A bit strange. But my LG G pro 2 can mirror it perfectly. :(

All in all, it's a decent smart tv dongle.

Just one irritating problem I face. I cannot disable the image wallpaper backdrop that keeps downloading in the background even when it is not casting anything. I have to physically disconnect the USB cable to turn it off completely.

Just my comments.

My experience is opposite of the person above. I bought ezcast because its 1/3 the price of chromecast.

Using the ezcast app, it has its own version of DLNA, where you send file to the device and the device decodes it. Most video files play fine like yify encodes with subtitles. Quality is as good as playing on your phone. However some high quality bluray rips cannot play

It has shortcut to your phone's own DLNA app if you do not want to use the proprietory one

It supports youtube like chromecast, but the quality is like 360p

The best function is the EzMirror ie Miracast. when u press this, device enters into wireless display mode, and you need to go to android wireless display settings to connect. Functions exactly like chromecast. There wont be any dropped frames if your phone is within the line of sight of the dongle.

Wireless mirroring works on my zenfone 2. But didnt work on samsung note 2014. i get hardware error. Both use lollipop 5.1.1

If u can afford it, go for chromecast, there are more apps for windows, android and chromeos that supports it

pricing should not be an issue for chromecast

Adix selling $25 for export sets
carousell got tons of people selling $30 onwards for brand new singtel sets (free from buying galaxy something phones)

can if u download them to your tablet beforehand and mirror it to your tv.
Chromecast/ezycast uses your tablet wireless connection to link with the tv, so there will be no internet connection on your tablet anymore, unless you use the sim card connection to stream.

correct me if wrong, so the best for you is to purchase a tv box or mhl to the tv

u can only MIRROR to your TV wirelessly

so an Android TV dongle or MHL cable are the other solutions u can go for.
